Bio

Deaf In The Family is a team created by a devotion to musicianship, lyricism, and quality. It was also born of anger. Anger at a music industry system that imprisons artists, discourages creativity, and focuses on sales and not the advancement of art. Deaf In The Family is devoted to delivering top productions and sonic quality to their artists and listeners.
The group was started by internationally staffed, New York City based production team The Resource. From short films to hip-hop (Scavone, Jean Grae, Digable Planets’ Cee-Knowledge, The Last Emperor, Saigon, etc.) to commercials (Ipod Nano, Skittles, Sprite, Dasani, etc.) to jug band jamborees, The Resource maintains its sanity through speaker cone manipulation and guitar smashing.
As a label Deaf In the Family released the critically acclaimed single from Scavone, “Revolution”

“Compelling indictment of a heartless, fed & bled rap industry that is only more convincing for it’s ridiculously rubbery fonk-ass beat and a sung chorus so full of pump you could ride it naked in a rodeo. Best US indie rap 12” I’ve heard in ages.” Daddy Bones -Grandslam / Big Daddy Magazine, Nottingham UK

Their first endeavor as a group is quickly becoming an underground classic. With a mash-up of classic rock and modern production, they are breathing new life back into great and perhaps forgotten songs. With the release of “For Those About To Rock”, DITF are working to usher in a new era of hip hop.
We’ve been told a lot of things by people in the industry over the years on how to make “hits” and “what you need to do is…” What we’ve learned: Don’t listen to what other people say. Maneuver through the music industry on the independent tip and have complete control over your art.
As Karen Carpenter said “We’ve only just begun…”
