Deanna Hughes

Deanna Hughes

BandR&BSinger/Songwriter

I'm Deanna AKA the "Lyrical Vixen". I write songs and melodys that the world has to hear. I would describe my style as neo-soul with an urban flair and jazz influence. I've been told by many that I have a way with words and this is reflected in my writing.

Biography

The cycle... Life is a cycle of happiness, love, disappointment, hate and forgiveness, a chain reaction if you will. At 12 I experienced my first heartbreak which prompted me to write my first poem entitled "In My Room". This was when I descoved my love for music and the healing power it possessed. Ever since then I have remained loyal to my emotions, my pen and my paper as they have never betrayed me.

It's funny how true my analogy is, life is a cycle, a repetition of what happened before and the revelation of what will inevitably come, only like a suspensful movie, the plot thickens and there's a slight twist. Through my teen years, I wrote a number of songs, roughly 35-30 as ideas and melodies oozed out of my pores, but it was when I moved to Georgia to begin "my life" did I truely understand my capabilities. Life and all of its glory is magnified in the eye of death.

Ballads seem to be my specialty. Heartfelt, deeprooted songs speak to me; I'd have to say that I draw my inspiration from that. I am able to write in all fields as well. I think what sets me apart from other songwriters is my ability to feel almost tangibly what I am writing and exude that reality and emotion through my lyrics and melodies.

Thank you for your time. I hope I have sparked your curiosity enough to coerse you into contacting me. To be continued...

Too Late For Goodbye

Written By: Deanna Hughes

Intro:
“Life…is so unpredictable. Today is the first day of the rest of our lives…and for some our last…”

Verse 1:
In life there are no guarantees/
Waking to a new day isn’t warranted/
Seeing the sunset is no security/
And the day to make amends will not always be tomorrow/

It’s too late for goodbye/
Now I can never erase the pain I caused in your life/
Let my pride get the best of me/
Now you’re gone forever not knowing how your life’s affected me/

Hook:
It’s too late/
Too late for goodbye/
If you’re listening hear my tears/
I apologize/
I can’t accept the fact that you’re gone/

Verse 2:
Forever is such a long time/
But for two long years that time was mine/
Calling you must have crossed my mind a thousand times/
Was ashamed feel I’m the one to blame for this sacrifice you made/

Wish you’d come back to me/
Grant me one moment with your smile/
I’d hold you tight all the while/
Whisper “I’m sorry” infinitely in hopes that you’d forgive me/

Hook:
It’s too late/
Too late for goodbye/
If you’re listening hear my tears/
I apologize/
I can’t accept the fact that you’re gone/

It’s too late/
Too late for goodbye/
If you’re listening hear my tears/
I apologize/
I can’t accept the fact that you’re gone/

Bridge:
Tomorrow’s not for sure/
If you’re sorry let them know/
Before it’s too late to say goodbye/
Life is not forever/
