Dear Maybe is a three-piece band based just south of Detroit, MI. They play original alternative/indie rock, with influences that include The Cure, Radiohead, At the Drive-In, Taking Back Sunday, and Smashing Pumpkins. The core members of Dear Maybe, Jeff (guitar/vocals) and Bob (drums), have known each other since high school. Paul (bass) is the newest member to the band.
The original four-member line-up of Dear Maybe released 'Sincerely, EP3' in the spring of 2002. Shortly after this, the second guitarist left the band. The remaining members decided to continue as a three-piece and began playing shows in October 2002. They mainly focused on venues in southeast Michigan for the first few years. They released a live single, "Last Goodbye - Lotus Version," in the summer of 2004. Paul joined the band later that same year.
In the summer of 2005, Dear Maybe went on their first tour with stops that included Chicago, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh. They ended 2005 with a mini-tour to Louisville, KY and Chicago. During the next three years, the attention of the band shifted more towards higher education. Although less shows were played, the intensity and dedication were just as high. Another single and the 'Wonka Sampler' CD were released during that time.
Their latest CD, 'In Failed Attempts,' was released in July 2009. This five-song EP is a collection of newer material and band favorites. The first single, "All Fall Long," has been receiving radio airplay on 89X (88.7 FM Windsor/Detroit).
Dear Maybe is currently playing venues and writing new material for their next CD. A Midwest tour is also being planned for the spring of 2010.
