For Immediate Release:
Nintendo-themed Birthday Party for Front Man turned Coffee Shop Owner
Next Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Moran’s Pub in South Milwaukee, internet band DxDC (aka Death by Death City) will celebrate frontman Noraa Ziur (aka Aaron Ruiz)’s 34th birthday with a debut live performance. The quartet’s leader, Aaron Brigman, initiated the project with the express purpose of circumventing copyright bylaws by including original music in a mockumentary about a band called 2D, (aka 2 Direction,) who steals songs from the fictional band, DxDC.
The birthday party will be held in the back room of Moran’s Pub, a local soccer bar, to kick off the tavern’s decision to host music for the first time in years. DxDC is marketing the night as a videogame themed event, offering attendees Nintendo Wii-motes to use for worldwide networked Mario Kart 8 racing on the big screen tv behind the band while they perform.
Ruiz was nominated Solo Artist of the Year for his album Trigger Finger by local radio station 88.9 Radio Milwaukee in 2013. Moran’s Pub (912 Milwaukee Ave.) is located directly across the street from Avenue Coffeehouse (911 Milwaukee Ave.) where Ruiz and his fiance, Sara Lewkowski own and operate the local internet cafe.

Bio

Death by Death City was originally the pseudonym for a studio band that provided original music for a documentary fiction film of a boy band called "2 Direction." Embodied by four members of a comedy crew, DxDC puts on a vibrant stage show. The friends have been recording music and creating short films since 2006, when the band's founder, Aaron Brigman, returned from Florida with a two-year sound engineering degree and took Aaron Ruiz, the band's front man, on as his first recording project back in Wisconsin.

The band fuses synth-heavy pop music with catchy-as-hell choruses punctuated by smart, layered vocals, delivered by an aging boy band.
