Death and the Ninth Day started out with three high school students who wanted to make a band to suit all of their musical interests, which would end up being a mix of math rock, jazz, with some metal influence in there too. Our main influences include The Fall of Troy, This Town Needs Guns, Scale the Summit, Protest the Hero, Jimi Hendrix, Piglet, Opeth and Just Like Vinyl, as well as bands like Veil of Maya, The Contortionist, and many other heavier bands. What's different about our music is that we may not have a vocalist, but we make sure to incorporate everything musically that we can to make sure that the song doesn't sound empty without one, using melodies on guitar and bass continuously. We're currently finishing up our first LP, which should be out by the end of 2012, recorded by Newcomb Studios in Harwood, Ontario.
