"Ten of Clubs single review"

“Fusion of smutty electronica, suicide-esque atmospherics and post-punk vocals” - Artrocker Magazine

"NOVA album review"

“There are riffs aplenty, but also nods to dirty electronica, krautrock, garage rock and industrial metal. The songs are quite eclectic, a refreshing change from being beaten around the head with the same formula for every song on an album. With vocals that reminiscent of DFA 1979 and Eighties Matchbox one minute, then Velvet Underground the next, this is definitely worth a listen for anyone with a love for the heavier side of life.” - Shout4Music

"Tastemakers - Dan Devour"

“Deathline really know how to mix up the genres. From electronica to art rock they can play it all. They have evolved through the years with some touches of Suicide but mix it with a 60s psychedelic sleazy sound” - Music Week

"NOVA album review"

“'NOVA' is an album with magnificent attention to detail and a surprising amount of depth. They've pushed the boat out, taken the necessary time and hoped this would bring them the winning formula. Well it's not just a podium finish, this is a gold medal worthy album.” - SoundsXP

"The Devil Has The Best Tuna"

"Deathline are a female lead duo with a fine line in post artrock rumble that purrs like a new born kitten and shreds your skin like a tiger on speed. Kinda like a 21st century Sonny & Cher having lunch with The Raveonettes served by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs' at Joy Division's greasy spoon cafe."

"On and Off Stage"

"Seriously unworldly electronica new wave, this is glamour at it's darkest."

"Paul Cox"

"It was a sad day when London lost original 100mph piked artrockers The Electric Shocks but at least we got two cool new bands out of the split. Kaoru and Jennie pulled together their guitar and bass duties and drafted in a ferocious drum machine to complete the rock'n'roll economy of a power duo. Kaoru's distinctive fuzz-tone guitars now complemented by Jennie's dead-pan noir vocal deliver a garage-punk pop with shades of Jesus and MaryChain, Ravonettes and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Abrasive energy and tunes, a winning combination." - Artrocker

"Fusion of smutty electronica, suicide-esque atmospherics and post-punk vocals"
Artrocker

"Hypnotic post industrial beats, a relentless guitar riff combined with nods to The Velvets & Nico, Einsturzende Neubauten and the Mary Chain is pretty much guaranteed to get our toes a-tapping"
The Von Pip Musical Express

"Deathline should probably come packaged in a leather jacket and shades and instantly give you an inferiority complex."
Sounds XP

A visceral blend of dirty electronica, throbbing garage rock and post-punk prowess make Deathline a formidable beast. The darkly textured mix includes heavy psych, shoegaze and kraut sensibilities with added elements of industrial influences along with Swedish born Jennie’s husky and nonchalant vocal delivery gave way to the press labeling this duo as “Rock Noir” drawing comparisons to Jesus and Mary Chain, Suicide and The Raveonettes with the beguiling front-woman being called a “punk rock Nico”.

Forming from the ashes of Artrocker favourites Electric Shocka, the duo debut album Sixty-Nine in early 2009 and threw themselves into the live circuit playing shows across the UK and Europe and hit the road for short tours of the US along the East Coast and Midwest before retreating back into the studio to pursue a darker and heavier path which led them to recoding new material with Josiah Mazzaschi (whose credits include Smashing Pumpkins/WIlliam Reid/JAMC/Deap Vally/Built to Spill/Rilo Kiley).

After meeting Josiah at a London show he persuaded the band to come out to record with him in his studio in LA where they band laid down second album NOVA - bringing a heavier Psychedelic and Desert Rock feel whilst still retaining all of the qualities that made Sixty-Nine a striking record.

NOVA and accompanying single "Ten of Clubs" were critical successes and were accompanied by a series of live UK shows throughout 2012 and early 2013. Now the duo are working on new material which will commence with new single "Every Dying Breath" in September 2013.

“Noir Rock with grinding drums that spit out short sharp burst of venom and a broody as hell bass give this duo a minimal Jesus and Marychain like vibe” Artrocker

“Short, sharp and sledgehammering home the point, the plethora of layers contained in the grungy burst drift around within the track, at times overlapping and at others crashing into each other spectacularly”
Shout 4 Music

“Their unceremonious mash-up of guitars and technology sounds like the grinding in the gearbox of the modern world. Remember when bands had to be electronic or guitar driven, but not both? Kraftwerk or The Clash, you had to choose. These days, you can be bits of both.”
Nemesis To Go

“Post artrock rumble that purrs like a new born kitten and shreds your skin like a tiger on speed.”
The Devil Has The Best Tuna

“Imagine Leonard Cohen singing a Billy Corgan ballad while J Mascis turns up the distortion.”
Camden New Journal
