DEATHMOCRACY

Spawned from the pits of the Seattle metal underground comes Deathmocracy, the progressive metal fusion band with an inspired and insightful pallet of songs to blow your mind and make your mother cry. The music is unique blend of melodic, black, death, and progressive metal that doesn’t cut any corners or take any prisoners. Deathmocracy has performed at numerous clubs and bars in the Seattle area and is beginning to make their mark in the local scene.

Members Justin, John and Scott had been in musical projects prior to Deathmocracy and in the summer of 2007, sought a guitar player for a basement metal band. The result was the discovery of Carl, who assumed the role of lead guitarist. The band continues to search for a permanent bass player, having gone through a handful of qualified candidates. The name Deathmocracy was agreed upon based on everyone’s beliefs and opinions towards politics, religion, life, insight, and death. With heavy influence from European and American metal acts, the sound is a healthy mix of rich melodies, heavy breaks, furious runs, and just enough shred to tie it all together. Their music has been described by fans as resembling older Swedish metal acts like At The Gates and early Arch Enemy and Amon Amarth. Deathmocracy prides themselves on their compositions, as no songs are just “pumped out”, but rather undergo a series of revisions and changes to give each song its own identity and feeling.

In early 2010 they released their 4-song EP. It was entirely self-recorded and produced in an in-home studio. Deathmocracy has opened up for several touring metal acts including Ensiferum (Spinefarm Records), Korpiklaani (Nuclear Blast Records), Blackguard (Nuclear Blast Records), Swashbuckle (Nuclear Blast Records), and Tyr (Napalm Records).
