Debbie Tebbs

Montréal native Debbie Tebbs is a singer, songwriter and composer offering a mix of Synth Pop modernized with electronic instruments as well as New Wave. Highly skilled in the art of mastering sequencers and synthesizers, Tebbs began cutting teeth on the spin table at the end of the 90’s during prestigious events in Europe, the United States and Canada.

After releasing the Step that Shit (2006) EP and creating various successful album compilations including House Factory (2009) and Night Culture (2009), the producer was named “Female Electronic Artist of the Year” during the 2009 Montreal DJ Awards.

In 2010, Tebbs underwent a major artistic shift with the release of her 5th album, Modern Talking, her first as singer, songwriter and composer. With her musicians, the producer developed a new show production, unveiling a captivating voice that immediately seduced the public as well as broadcasters. Her new endeavours propelled the artist to a new market with a successful tour in 2012 and 2014. The 12-piece album’s acclaimed masterpiece Turbo Love resulted in a music video in 2013.

Praised for its blend of rich, original and distinctive compositions, Modern Talking allowed Tebbs to penetrate the synchronization and TV broadcasting market. Today, her music is broadcasted throughout the world in various publicity campaigns and TV shows (TVA, Radio-Canada [CBC] - Tout le monde en parle, Sotchi Games, Snowboard Ride Shakedown, Nissan).

Greatly influenced by the musical and theatrical universe of groups such as Daft Punk, Depeche Mode and Ladytron, Tebbs and her musicians offer a remarkable performance that skillfully combines nostalgia and technology. Armed with various instruments and synthesizers, Tebbs offers an energetic 80’s inspired performance in an innovative and futuristic visual landscape.

Applauded for her charismatic stage presence and catchy melodies, Debbie Tebbs has earned herself an enviable position as one of the public’s favourite artists, quickly gaining support from the media and broadcasters. The artist has not only shared the stage with various artists including Radio Radio, Violett PI, Footprintz, Dead Obies, Rock Forest and Misteur Valaire, but she has also worked closely with technical collaborator Sennheiser Canada on tours.

Hailed by the media as an iconic figure of Quebec’s electronic landscape, Tebbs released her 6th opus, UP! this past September (Cliché Musique/Universal Music Canada). Debbie Tebbs ranks top among today’s hottest artists. On this already critically acclaimed album, Tebbs transports fans into the electrifying universe of video games, as showcased in her recent music video, produced in collaboration with Misteur Valaire. Tebbs’ works are now represented by Guillaume Déziel, renowned for marketing their creations as well the works of the Beat Market duo.
