Lyrics

For This War and for This Home

Written By: Debbie Williams

And now it starts
another broken heart
another day goes by
Another listener listenin' of
the pain survives
she prays for wind to take her heart
but not her soul
and that the sun would fill her eyes with love and hope

she wakes every mornin'
and she waits for the day
like the skies for the sun to rise
she breathes in the lonely
as she thinks each day's goodbye
oh she thinks she's the only
tear that was left from the rain falling from the sky
the world has got her solely
by the look in her eye
oh she says you'll never know me
like the man that gave me life

she sees the world
what we are told
and what we actually know
she says there's reasons for this war
and for this home
we live for love
we live for lust
we live for those who we have lost
and we have pride in all the things that we now own
and we are selfish in the ways that we all grow

she wakes every mornin'
and she waits for the day
like the skies for the sun to rise
she breathes in the lonely
as she thinks each day's goodbye
oh she thinks she's the only
tear that was left from the rain falling from the sky
the world has got her solely
by the look in her eye
oh she says you'll never know me
like the man that gave me life
oh she says you'll never know me
like the man that gave me life

she says I'll give it my all
but the world don't know me
I'm missin' the rain
and the things you've shown me
the good in the world
and the gifts we never notice

she wakes every mornin'
and she waits for the day
like the skies for the sun to rise
she breathes in the lonely
as she thinks each day's goodbye
oh she thinks she's the only
tear that was left from the rain falling from the sky
the world has got her solely
by the look in her eye
oh she says you'll never know me
like the man that gave me life
oh she says you'll never know me
like the man that gave me life

Fight for Peace

Written By: Debbie Williams

Verse1:
If I could write a letter to myself
I'd say girl find a better understanding
I'd say be free and just be me
And together we will be
A blooming flower that'll never be hurt
We'll run through fire and never get burned

Verse2:
If I could tell myself who I should be
I'd say stay away from what's not really me
I'd hold my hand through the pain
Wash it away with the rain
And live like water reflecting the shame
Never see the cause or who's to blame
We'll never feel the pain

Chorus:
Little girl you'll see
Live in a world with me
And we will find our dreams
And when the cold winds blow
Oh we can learn and grow
And we will fight for peace

Verse 3:
If I could write a letter to the world
I'd say educate every little boy and little girl
Don't let them run
Don't let them hide
And when they hurt inside
Give them strength to be a shooting star
So they know exactly who they are

Chorus:
Little girl you'll see
Live in a world with me
And we will find our dreams
And when the cold winds blow
Oh we can learn and grow
And we will fight for peace

Bridge:
Why can't we find a single peace of mind?
Look deep inside
A heart that is so kind
Gentle and growing
One smile, their eyes are showing life

Chorus:
Little girl you'll see
Live in a world with me
And we will find our dreams
And when the cold winds blow
Oh we can learn and grow
And we will fight for peace

Little girl you'll see
Live in a world with me
And we will find our dreams

Unknown Entity

Written By: Debbie Williams

Unknown entity

I dream of trees
And grass that's green
I hope and pray
That love will overcome one day

The ground it speaks
But no one hears her sing
The air we breathe
An unknown entity

Her soul, it cries
But now she sees through angels eyes
Oh her pain, she bares
The loving hand that wasn't there

And the ground it speaks
But no one hears her sing
The air we breathe
An unknown entity

I tried to save anyone,
But not everyone
I let her outrun her faith
Oh her heart came undone
Oh she cries towards the stars
Oh she cries towards the sun

the ground it speaks
But no one hears her sing
The air we breathe
An unknown entity

I dream of trees
And grass that's green
Oh believe in me
The air we breathe
The love we need
Oh oh oh

The ground it speaks
But no one hears her sing
The air we breathe
An unknown entity
Oh the air we breathe
an unknown entity
