New Zealand born acoustic singer/songwriter Deb Durrant is "A talented Musician with a lot to offer!" - Petros Entertainment
Currently working on tracks for an EP release towards the end of 2011, Deb Durrant is working hard and looking forward to some successful release's that will motivate people and help keep their passion alive. Of course, Deb Durrant wants to make sure everyone has a good time too!
Gigs in the near future to help promote the EP release are definitely on the cards with Deb currently attending a few underground gigs here and there while recording in the studio.
While getting into music at the tender age of 4 with piano it was only a few years till this talented young lady realised her destiny after picking up the guitar. Some early success was had while touring NZ while in a children's band that was formed though her local church. Deb say's "I grew up going to church with my parents and music was major in influencing me there." Like a lot of young teens other interests started to take priority in Deb's life and it wasn't until her late teens/early twenties that she got back into the groove and started writing her own music and pushing her musical boundaries.
Deb Durrant moved out to Australia at 22 and kept writing and playing, Deb Says "No matter what I've been doing in life, music has always been inside me, my music for passion is overwhelming, I know how easy it is to neglect your interests in this busy life, but I know it's worth making time for what you love!" Major influences have been artists such as Eva Cassidy, Ben Harper, Tracy Chapman, Jack Johnson and the likes, herself predominately playing roots, folk, reggae and dub.
The EP release will help define Deb Durrant "Always upbeat, friendly, relatable and wanting to make sure everyone has a good time!"- Luke LP Peters. This is backed up by her playful lyrics "feel the love, no spite, I said get down tonight, or you'll remain all tight," - Get Down Tonight and "Have to work all day to survive, so I have to play all night, to make it right!" - Quarter Past 1. Tracks like these is what is going to make Deb Durrant loved in the music industry so make sure you keep an eye out for her EP due out towards the end of this year!
