"SMOOTH AS A HOT FUDGE SUNDAE"

When asked about the recent performance of Deborah Alfaro at It's A Grind in Santa Clarita, CA, owner Rick asked "Where has she been hiding!" Playing to a packed house, the coffee house which normally seats only two dozen customers was overflowing onto the outdoor patio with clamouring fans eager to hear the sweet and lush tones of Deborah Alfaro. - Rick @ It's A Grind, Santa Clarita

"MAKE WAY FOR DEBORAH ALFARO"

Imagine a sultry night in Savannah. A pale moon spills its light across the ground like liquid silver. Arched notes of a melancholy jazz tune drift by, broad strokes of an audible painting. Such are the images Deborah Alfaro summons to mind. Rich and resonant, her voice throbs with languid emotion.

Having trained with some of the top vocal and songwriting coaches in the music industry (including Leanne Summers, Jimmy Kachulis, Robin Frederick, and Pat Pattison) Alfaro is a gifted singer and songwriter.

Alfaro’s distinctive style is both lush and lyrical, though she attributes some of her inspiration to such artists as Sarah McLachlan, Norah Jones and Carly Simon. Her experience in theater and world travel adds a subtle dimension to her compositions, weaving an intricate tapestry of sensitive vocals and earthy melodies.

Talent like Deborah Alfaro doesn’t come along every day. Like those strains of jazz on a hot Savannah night, this newcomer to the music scene deserves to be heard. - Laurisa White Reyes - Santa Clarita Signal

Bio

Deborah Alfaro is a smooth and sultry adult contemporary pop singer/songwriter and avid soccer mom.   Her striking voice with lush warm tones wraps you up as a spectator to stories of life, love, loss and a slice of Americana.  Melting your ears like a hot fudge sundae sliding effortlessly down, Deborah‘s melodies and harmonies are tantalizing to the taste, rich with smooth textures and sweetness.  She resonates with flavors of Annie Lennox , Sarah McLachlan, Norah Jones & Carly Simon.

Deborah’s upcoming album “Any Day but Sundae” is filled with songs crafted through her unique style of storytelling. Active moms and dads everywhere will immediately be able to taste familiar harmonies from their own lives in her lyrics and sound. “Any Day but Sundae” was written while sitting at her daughter’s soccer practices wishing for days of calm and reflection. She is soon to be a favorite you’ll want to hear again and again.

One special track of note on the album is “Days of Innocence” written for her Grandmother's 100th birthday celebration at the request of her mother, is an homage to a simpler time and the childhood of her parents, aunts and uncles. Her ease in captivating the nostalgia of a more innocent time makes us all think about our own childhoods and leaves you with a sense of longing for that traditional slice of apple pie on a 4th of July picnic.

References to her grandfather, Tom and Grandmother, "Mommy" came from real life experiences as her grandfather played in minor league baseball and her grandmother, a school teacher, fostered her creativity by continually asking "what do you see in there?"

Another track of note on the album is “Bridges” written about her experiences raising her son (now 16) who has high-functioning autism, sometimes referred to as Aspberger‘s Syndrome. Inspiration for the song came through her experiences “building bridges” through art, film and music that reached into his world of exclusion and provided a path helping him to cross over into a whole new world of other interests, social connections and desire to know more about the world.

Deborah Alfaro is a new performer whose time has come and you won’t want to miss being a part of the journey.
