Bio

Formed in 2007 in Memphis, TN, DECADENCE POINT is a hard rock/metal band featuring loud, aggressive music without foregoing the importance of maintaining a melodic sense. Their music offers hard driving guitars, bone crushing beats, and meaningful lyrics, with a sound that has been compared to the likes of Disturbed & Godsmack. In late 2006, with intentions of re-joining the local Memphis rock scene, former REVOLT front man David Wylz was introduced to local guitarist Scott Dotson. The two soon saw that their talent together stirred up a unique chemistry and began writing songs which would become the basis of the new band. With a handful of songs, the band soon recruited bassist Kenny Knighton to hold down the bottom end, and mutual friend Chris Gallarno was added on the drum kit. After a few shows featuring this line-up, Gallarno was replaced with drummer Chris McCoy to give the band the more powerful technical sound it was looking for. And now, with this new sound and the new line-up intact, plans were made to enter the studio to record the band's first CD (Which Chris M was not featured on due to a late coming into the band), a 6-song EP aptly titled "DECADENCE POINT" and featuring the tracks "Far Beyond My Grave" and "Disarray" which have become new local favorites garnering attention on local Memphis radio station 93X. The band also now has plans on re-entering the studio this fall due to interest from record producers intent on securing the band a signed record deal.In March of 2009 the band won 3rd place @ in the MGM booking Best of the South competition held at the all new State of the art Minglewood Hall in Memphis TN.The band is quickly making moves and getting noticed in the local area.So with a no-holds-barred attitude and and no plans on slowing down, be sure to look for DECADENCE POINT in your future!
