'Rock'n'Reel' **** (four-star review of 'An Innocent Evening of Drinking')

Bio

Declan Bennett is a British singer-songwriter who writes candid, hard- hitting, pop music. He has a witty and poetic way with words, a unique take on life and unashamedly shares his honest tales of life, love and sexuality with his ever-growing audience of listeners. No stranger to fame (with mainstream chart success by the age of 20 as part of pop/rock outfit Point Break, a lead role in the award-winning pop biography ‘Taboo’ at 21, and an extended trip to America to star as Roger in the cult rock opera RENT), Declan released his second full-length album “An Innocent Evening Of Drinking” in April 08. He went on to open for Sondre Lerche, Amy Wadge, Nizlopi, Ed Sheeran and also for Boy George on his 31 date UK tour, widening his ever expanding audience of listeners and soon after was asked to return to the States to join the original cast of Green Days ‘American Idiot’ on Broadway. Last summer he also starred alongside singer/songwriter Nellie McKay in his first feature film ‘Downtown Express’. He continues to gig in New York and his 3rd album ‘record:BREAKUP’, released digitally worldwide on April 25th, on his own label CovBoy, is now available.
