Bio
Founder Stefano Matteucci educated privately and at the Conservatory of "Santa Cecilia" in Rome. After several years of experience in Orchestra and Chamber music, he began to play also other kinds of music, like Jazz, Pop, Alternative and Rock (with many bands of the Roman underground). Then he started to sing and compose professionally and created his own music: Songs and Instrumentals with Rock prog-Pop-Gothic-Metal and Classical influences. In this project called "D-EDGE" he plays cello and sings at the same time on stage which is very unique and interesting. Not only the concept of the music but the show as well is very attractive to make people curious.
His sound, music and concept is original and appealing, basically it is a mixture between classical, rock, pop, gothic and metal.
WORKING EXPERIENCE (CLASSICAL):
Various concerts in Italy and abroad with the S. Cecilia’s Orchestra. Budapest National Theatre: 2000 New Year’s Day concert with S. Cecilia’s Orchestra. Cellist in the “Roma Sinfonietta” Orchestra (2005-2006) “Orchestra Internazionale d’Italia” Fermo (2004-2005) Orchestra Regionale del Lazio and Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese (2003/2004) Chamber music: Concerts for duet, trio and quartet.
ROCK/ POP/ JAZZ:
Several gigs with various bands of the Roman underground. Festival "Fragments" (Frascati 2004). Gig with the well known Jazz singer Amalia Grè (Rome 2005). Gig with the “Wish Orchestra” at Oakengates Theatre in Telford (28-March-2009). Gigs for “Liquid Strings” agency. Gig with the Jazz Trio at the Royal Albert Hall (May 2009).
D-EDGE PROJECT:
Recording for "Talenz": tv show which was aired live on sky tv and Rete Oro channel (Rome 2007). "Marte Live Festival" at Contastaccio Club (Rome 2007). "Roma Music Festival" at Cinema Adriano (Rome 2007). Gigs in London (from 2008..): The World's End/ Viva Viva restaurant/ 491 Gallery/ Bullet Bar/ Pumphouse Club/ Cobden Club/ Water Rats/ Bull & Gate for "Emergenza" Festival/ Blag Club.
COLLABORATIONS:
Recordings for the artist "Double Thumb" and "Paul Murray", gigs with "Amanda Bloom", gig at the Comedy Club with "Sylence Johnson", performances for "Emergenza Festival" in the "Aura Noctis" band at the Bull & Gate and Purple Turtle, several recordings in studio for many bands in the UK. Currently in the bands: Aleksandra Kwasniewska Jazz Band, gigs at: George IV/ Tatra Restaurant; The Dulcet Tones Trio (Deelee Dubè Jazz Trio), gigs at: Royal Albert Hall/ Crown Moran Hotel.
