"Sometimes Rock Hurts"

In the beginning of
this month, Ded
Walleye will be
releasing their third
album, "Sometimes Rock Hurts," to their loyal fans, folks who have waited nearly four years since the release of "Bamn" for a new album. The good news is, the music was worth the wait. Ded Walleye's newest is a hands-down great album, full of riffery, power ballads, and good solid rock sure to satiate both old and new listeners alike.
So what took so long to put this album together? Two simple reasons; first, after "Bamn" came out the band toured extensively, getting the music and album out to the people, and only then started writing again (they wrote four new songs in a year, songs that so far have been well-received by fans). Secondly, the band experienced a line-up change when Mitch left, and as with any group re-tinkering there came an adjustment period for the new band members to mesh.
"Sometimes Rock Hurts" had some high expectations to fulfill after the success of "Bamn" along with the four year wait. It does not disappoint. Even more good news: the band expects another album out within a year to a year and a half. Ded Walleye plans on having a few parties for the fans so that they can celebrate the release of this album as well.
The album is in the final stages of being done and will be out and ready for purchase the first week of May. Check their website at www.dedwalleye.com or www.myspace.com/ dedwalleye. - High Plains Reader

Bio

200+ shows per year. That's what Ded Walleye has done for the last four years. Shaping their music and building a loyal fanbase. Along the way sharing the stage with acts from Cheap Trick to Poison. This band works as hard as anyone to get their energetic brand of "hard pop" to anyone who will listen. And they do listen. With a new album just out in the spring '06, Ded Walleye wants only one thing: MORE. More shows, more fans, more opportunities to impress you!
