There's a flippant silliness about her lyrics yet a heartbreaking undercurrent of seriousness. She's like a goofy yet wise and learned professor, guiding us through the murky waters of life. Born to an American father and a French mother, she spent her childhood playing with dolls in Texas and her teen years people-watching from the sidewalk cafe's of Paris. Small wonder that she'd become an actress, director and playwright, desperately seeking answers to her never-ending curiosity about human behaviors. When she began to funnel her creativity into
songwriting it made for some highly entertaining views of life, love and the pursuit of happiness.
One of her fans said that her concerts are like attending an AA meeting with a glass of wine. She prefers to think of it as attending an OA meeting with a dozen donuts. Either way, she has the uncanny ability to amplify our foibles and present them as our most endearing qualities.
