DeeGee

Darryl Gallegos aka DeeGee is an MC/songwriter from Denver,Colorado. An agressive upbeat MC, but draws you in with his lyricism and catchy punch lines while at the same time making you groove while he is delivering his choruses. He packs power behind his words and delivers it with clarity so the audience can feel the impact of what he is saying. DeeGee always has a message behind his work: Always working hard, and to follow your dreams; two thing he believes in deeply. You can feel the power of his message and the overall passion he has for hip hop everytime he steps on to the stage and everytime you hear a verse.

DeeGee fell in love with music at a very young age and become to be heavily influenced by all music that was around him. He was influenced by everything from country, classic rock, old school hip hop, to punk rock. Some of his favorites were some Aerosmith, Janice Joplin, KRS-1, Green Day, and Nirvana. But it was all over when one of his neighborhood friend showed him "Dance With the Devil" by Immortal Technique, he immediately fell in love with hip hop and he knew that is the dream he wanted to pursue. He began to play everything that was hip hop from underground to mainstream and then decided instead of listening hip hop, why not become apart of hip hop?

Thats when he met his friend super producer Richard Johnson aka Nonsense  who showed him how to take freestyle rhymes and put them down on record. The two of them quickly became friends and they started making tracks together for several years. DeeGee never did anything real serious with music during that time period but mostly discover the love he had for hip hop and how he wanted to do more. Nonsense was working on a project with a drummer named Mike Marsh, who both decided to form a live hip hop group later to be known as Kingman Brewster. Nonsense came to DeeGee with the opportunity of joining the group because he known previously that DeeGee was wanting to do more. DeeGee quickly agreed became the 2nd MC of Kingman Brewster. 

Kingman Brewster played several shows around the front range from Fort Collins, Denver, and Durango. Shared the stage with national greats like the Alkoholiks, DJ Scream from Slipknot,  to local greats like P-Knuckle and Green River Vibe. Unfortunately Kingman Brewster, the group, split up in October of 2013 and the individuals of the group went on working on solo projects. 

DeeGee then went and teamed up with Calvin Parker Jr Owner and Operator of Calleywood Radio, an independent radio station located in Denver. Calvin being a educated producer and has been in the industry for several years agreed to assist DeeGee as he begins a start as a solo act, and became Executive Producer for his upcoming debut solo album. 

DeeGee is always repping for his home town of Denver! You can feel the passion he has for his city in his lyrics, Denver based metaphores, and Colorado hooks. He has been around the local hip hop community for most of his childhood and realizes there is a diverse and dynamic music community in Colorado and loves working with all Colorado Artist.
