DJ Koma

BandEDMHip Hop

A DJ/Turntablist who is dedicated to blending the classics with the new through terrific mixes, combining different techniques and genres. Someone who manipulates the turntable in a way that it becomes an instrument. Turning the art of being a disc jockey, from just playing music, to making music.

In as little as a year, I have developed skills that many others take much longer to learn. I have also in less than a year, been able to have my own online radio show called Sloppy Cuts Radio on on Saturdays from 1:30pm-3pm. I stay true to the old school by playing only vinyl, never digital. Other DJ's these days just use their laptops or CD's, where the software does the beatmatching FOR them, instead of them learning to do it by ear. These microwave DJ's don't understand the amount of dedication and practice that it takes to truly become a master of this art. I am always learning, but I learn the way the originators learned, and in this way I am preserving what a real DJ is. And I do all this and can still rock a party. I have family who DJ, and they've taught me everything I know. They are successful club DJ's who have more than a decade of experience. This has also assisted me in developing a very diverse record collection, allowing my sets to be very diverse, for diverse crowds.

I am an aspiring producer who has yet to make an album, because of the lack of equipment. But this is a goal, but when I do release a record, I will play it on my radio show.
