Bio

From his early teenage years, DJ YNot? has always had an interest in DJing. He got his first set of turntables in the late 90’s. Within a year’s time he received a call from what would become his training grounds to hone his craft. A local night club in central Jersey called "Packees" is where you found DJ YNot? every Thursday night. Soon after, he received calls from other venues in New Jersey which would become; being an official resident DJ in such night clubs like Deko Lounge, Club Platinum, as well as the world renowned Club Abyss. Soon he found himself sharing stages with DJs: Kid Capri, Mr Cee, Funk Master Flex, Tony Touch, Jazzy Joyce, just to name a few. As well as shows and events with Russel Simmons, Fatman Scoop, Lil Kim, The Lox, Talib Kweli and Fat Joe. In 2004, He made his television debut as the guest DJ in BET’s “Rapcity the Basement” and again in later 2005. The Hip Hop video show receives 15 million viewers nation wide. DJ YNot? also became a staff DJ for retail urban clothing company “Against All Odds”.

On the up-swing of his career as a secular DJ, God had different plans. “I remember the exact night where I was playing for a couple thousand people, when I got convicted by God’s Spirit” he recounts. “That night in the club, God showed me that He didn’t want me in that environment”. “Ya’ see, being a fulltime DJ, stops being just a job, it becomes a lifestyle. It comes with influence along with a lot of other things. You’ll be surprised at what you could make a person do by just saying a few words on the microphone along with playing a catchy song. He showed me that I was leading people towards the wrong way”. In the beginning of 2006, DJ YNot? retired as a secular DJ when he found out the saving truth in Jesus Christ. Depending solely on income from Djing, this posed a problem, for this is how he supported his family. “I didn’t know how I was going to put food on the table. I went from making $1000 - $1500 cash a week, in to zero.” “Looking back now, I know that it was my God who got me through that time in my life. I placed my turntables on the Alter and gave it to God. After all, it was Him who gave me this gift. All this time, I was using it in the wrong”. As time went on he became more mature in his faith. He noticed that God started giving back to him what he had left at his feet almost 2 years ago. Romans 8:28 says "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." His goal is to take everything that God has given him and use it to big Him up. His hopes are to win souls for the Kingdom with DJing and Producing as the method and to show people that; just because you are a Christian you can’t have fun or a good time in the Lord.

Since coming to the Kingdom, DJ YNot? has shared the stage with such artist as Lecrae, Ambassador, Brother Hahz, Flame, R Swift, JR, and along with several others. He is currently the resident DJ for Faith Generation Youth Church and High Up Young Adults Ministry. DJ YNot? attends Faith Fellowship Ministries World Outreach Center in Sayreville, NJ where he is under the leadership of Pastor David T. Demola. He is also currently on fulltime staff as a graphic designer and video producer.
