Dee Jonez

DeVonne “Dee Jonez” Jones was born October 3, 1990. Growing up in Waterbury, Connecticut, he made the decision that he would never degrade himself and settle for the life that most people thought was laid out for him. He refused to become another statistic. Dee found his passion for music at a very young age. He started writing music in the second grade. The first song he wrote was a sappy love song to my first crush that was recorded on a little kiddy cassette players. Dee attended the Waterbury Arts Magnet School to perfect his craft and graduated with numerous amounts of music awards. Going to an art school gave him a different look on everything, a broad crowd of fans and an upper hand on how to appeal to different crowds.

As an artist Dee resembles those like Kid Cudi, B.o.B, Black Eye Peas, N*E*R*D* and Lupe Fiasco on the more soulful tracks. He tells you stories about good times, parties, girls, love and the pursuit of reaching his dream. However, Dee Jonez is more then just an artist. He has also written and produced over 600 original tracks within the past 4 years, which some have even been shown to artist such as, Kris Cross, Black Street, and Black Rob.

Dee has been on a musical journey with his cousin Antonio “Toney Starque” Coles since childhood. They talked and dreamed about was making good music and showing the world what they have. Starting from recording on, cassette recorders, phones and toys, to closets and now professional studios the pair has come a long way. In 2010, along with NickeyFresh and Chris Asher, they formed Starque Ent, where Dee was their number one artist. Currently Dee is working to finish up his first EP titled dO.Ob which he will drop November 15, 2010. Determined to make a name for himself he is currently doing shows all over Connecticut and New York area and soon hopes to be a household name.
