Bio

Dee Nevel was born in Jamaica and moved to New York in his teens. He relied on recorded music of his favorite sound system Stone Love to get over homesickness on cold winter days. He went to Baruch College of the City University of New York where he got a BBA degree in Economics. He got into music by accident on his way to Ecuador. When volcanic eruptions stranded his flight in Miami. He met an Ecuadorian performer on his way to pitch a movie script and sound track to an executive producer in Guayaquil. It so happened they were staying at the same hotel and the performer asked him to accompany him on the trip to make the pitch. He went along and the producer asked if with his Jamaican background could he ad some flavor to the music that was being pitched with the script. He said yes and that is how he got started. He had a falling out with the performer and took his tracks and tried to give them away and when no one would take them, he decided to find a singer and record them. Having spent time in Latin America and seeing the love people had for Reggae/Dancehall and the way Reggaton was becoming stuck with no way forward he penned Papichulo Pt. 1 which is a mix of Spanish, Jamaican dialect and English, along with a new and fresh lovable beat. Dee Nevel also did the song Confession of A Killer for the family members of murder victims to show them that some killers are not so tough after all when it is their time to die. He has the wherewithal to mix Spanish and the Jamaican dialect along with English seamlessly to satisfy all aspects of the listening spectrum and combine it with new beats all the time so the listeners do not get bored.
