Bio

Reminiscent of old school masters Tribe Called Quest and Freestyle Fellowship, this meeting of local hop-heads boasts two of the most independent-minded Emcees in the San Diego County.

Formed in 2004 by former Battle-Axe recording artist, Mr. Brady and San Diego show stopper, Johaz - Deep Rooted is bringing a new style of Hip Hop to the forefront.

With a soulful songstress, Urban Dynamic dancers, and a DJ with crazy skills – Deep Rooted has managed to achieve more in two years than those artists who have worked their entire lives.

Having performed at some the Southern California’s hottest venues; House of Blues, Coors Amphitheater, Exile, Montezuma Hall, and the Belly Up Tavern, there is no where else but up with this group.

Their highly anticipated sophomore release “The Second Coming” has more than turned a few heads. Since the albums release in early May, the record has sold out at every retail record store that sells it, leaving fans scrambling to purchase copies at a local show.

With years of dues-paying and ill-rhyme saying in the making, it's hard to make sense of their relative anonymity amongst the established local industry. Once you catch the collective onstage, you'll know why there is a buzz around them.

Their musical talents, mind blowing live performances, and a universal sound they call “feel good music,” will definitely have you feeling good and “open mynded.”
