DeepSpace

DeepSpace is a hip hop duo based in Maryland, consisting of Orlando Smith (O.Smith) and Jordyn Stubblefield (J Roc). Hailing from an area that has been over looked in hip hop for far too long, their mission is to share with the world their distinct musical perspective, along with the unique cultural style inherent to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. While attending the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, O.Smith and J Roc met and discovered each others passion for creating music. Upon recording together, it quickly became apparent that the two had a special working chemistry in terms of song development. From then on, they have continued to pen and compose their own works, usually alongside in-house production contributed by J Roc. As a group, DeepSpace combines clever lyrical content and stylish execution with hard-hitting, yet melodic, instrumentation. The duo seeks to create timeless music that transcends all genres and cultural barriers, often shying away from the recurring negative themes that have become so redundant in the hip hop industry. DeepSpace is confident that they have created a fresh, groundbreaking sound, which retains the cherished elements of classic hip hop while pushing its limits with unique concepts and originality, through the incorporation of a wide variety of musical styles.
