Deep Water

Deep Water

BandRockAlternative

Deep Water is a throwback to the roots of Classic Rock, with a modern edge. Similar to bands such as Wolfmother, Deep Water incorporates in their live show not only talent, but an extremely high level of energy as well.

Biography

Deep Water was born from lead singer Rob McGiffin's love of Classic Rock and his rythym section's (John Rios and Matt Gilbert) love of performing. Musical influences include Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Bad Company, Neil Young, Led Zepplin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and many others.

Originally from British Columbia, Canada, Singer/Guitarist Rob travelled down to Southern California to try out for the San Diego Padres baseball team. After a gruelling try-out, Rob was cut. Rob decided to stick around and attend Fullerton College. Through a mutual friend, he met Matt Gilbert and John Rios. Though Rob was only just beginning to think about a music career, he was invited to join a band, as a guitarist, that Matt and John were already playing in. As Rob's talent (and confidence) grew, it was decided that he should be the front man.

Now, armed with a new frontman, a new name, and a new set of songs, this hard-rockin' power trio set out to look for a new scene and a new fan base. They decided to devote their show to one location and following in the footsteps of one of their favorite bands, Cream, they chose to try to pack as many people into a tiny, smokey bar as possible. Playing weekly 3-hour sets with as many as 40 songs, word of mouth quickly spread, and throngs of people began showing up to hear and see this energetic group, and the band has been putting in the legwork to begin playing all over Southern California.

Lyrics

Higher Price

Written By: Robinson McGiffin

She walks like a devil wearing Prada shoes, she's got so much to gain she's nothing to lose. A platinum scarf hanging 'round her neck, you want her love you can't afford it yet...

she's got love, love at a higher price
she's got love, love at a higher price, you know I'm right.

Now listen baby, don't be apprehensive. I know my game looks inexpensive. listen to me while i'm feeling pensive, I might be in love with you.

she's got love, love at a higher price
she's got love, love at a higher price, you know I'm right.

Breaking My Heart

Written By: Robinson McGiffin

You've got to find your own way of dying, don't let someone dig your grave. And pay no mind to the man behind the curtain making you his slave...

It's breaking my heart now darling,
It's breaking my heart.

And now it's time to burn, because you know we'll never learn.

Lay me down, upon the ground, where the soldier's frown weighs more than mine. And in your town, don't make a sound, or else the man will steal your pride.

It's breaking my heart now darling,
It's breaking my heart.

And now it's time to burn, because you know we'll never learn.

Wild Blue Harlot

Written By: Robinson McGiffin

Dressed in purple, she's exceedingly wealthy. Reeks of incense but she don't look healthy. Her kiss is like a wilted buttercup, she'll swallow you down when she knows what's really up, and all she ever says is let's ride.

She dances like a shamen turning into a rattlesnake. The moon is her's and the sun is only fake. Her kiss is like a wilted buttercup, she'll swallow you down when she knows what's really up, and all she ever says is let's ride.

Do you wanna ride?

Wild Blue Harlot in your mirror, following you through your years. Drink the devil's darling wine, or stay at home in the sunshine.

People say that the world is terrible. But I think perfection would be unbearable. Her kiss is like a wilted buttercup, she'll swallow you down when she knows what's really up, and all she ever says is let's ride.

Wild Blue Harlot in your mirror, following you through your years. Drink the devil's darling wine, or stay at home in the sunshine.
