Chaos & Time Loss

Written By: Travis Armour

Chaos & Time Loss

The sight of you was a surprising one
Amid the chaos and eventual time loss

These lights have been turned on twice before
I want me but … I need you more

Apart, I felt someday I’d try a heart that melts when you sigh
You’re a goddess lying in wait…

Looking inside and out, down and topside
Wandering with you in mind, pieces I will hope to find

Apart, I felt someday I’d try a heart that melts when you sigh
You’re a goddess lying in wait…

A glowing stare is more than enough, to cause escape of stable air
Honest is as honest will ever feel, a single touch is what is real

Defense Wins Games

Defence Wins Games

The birds of the Yukon Territory
Fly south but they always came back to me

Into the spotlight I came across
A sense that I’d misplaced my method

So I picked up my book called
“Ideas for When You’re Alone”
page seventeen, where every line highlighted in bold

I’ll ask each one of you a simple question
How does it feel to not measure down?
To not score that touchdown
Drain that hoop, hit the home run
To make a loved one feel bad
Or worse, to make her tears sad

Every little thing … just cant tear us apart
I took off all defences, and prayed for mended fences

Too Real Till You Got There

Too Real Till You Got There

My heart beats as much as it bleeds
even if it gets what it needs
and what it wants, still, every idea haunts

Demons are real, as much as we try
Smothered in hugs, to keep them offside
and what they want, still that demon haunts

No matter the timeline, I feel refined
Despite the irregular heartbeat
When I lose my keys

And there’s never a sound when I am found
Without my senses, no defences
I’m never around when I am found

My heart beats as much as it bleeds even if it gets what it needs
and what it wants, still the feeling haunts

Explore Canada's Arctic

Explore Canada’s Arctic

How something so small can affect you so much?
It starts out as a dot but becomes something intricate, balanced delicate
tracking so wise

That dot begins to grow, from the inside out
bigger than you can know without a single doubt

why cant I dance?
Like when my heart’s in love?
shake my hips, snap my fingers
float around what lingers
take time to enjoy
the ground below, the sky above

How something ingrained can affect you so much?
it starts out as a line but becomes something ill-defined
an affront to bend, foe to friend

How something so small can affect you so much?

Springtime Stars

Springtime Stars

One night I was swimming with the springtime stars
overhearing all the late night bars, it left me feeling heart-blue
With a growing sense that the sound of settling is a means to
a starry heaven that will drown without you

My hands they took in your gentle breathing
as I touched your tears believing I was the same without you
But down the slope I will go and then I’ll christen
the anxious heavy weight of the alone

Sometimes things don’t tighten counter-clockwise
or get nailed down screwed in, excised
The way we know

One night I was skating under springtime stars
Wishing that all the parked down cars
Had driven you to me

With a crushing sense of impending softness
I sat down and began to touch the ground
In a way that was love, love, lovely

One night I was walking under springtime stars
Wishing that all the parked down cars
Had driven you to me

Historical Calculus

Historical Calculus

We shared a bedroom by the university
The garden reached up – you were so sweet!
And we were shy, but it was time to try
With us inside, locked by the feet

But as often the case
They drowned out the bass
The singer slipped a key
And tossed inside, we could do nothing! Nothing!

You cant put your arms around a memory
So don’t even try
My drunken sweetheart turned to cry
It's a confusing world, so don’t even try

There's years between us now
You've two kids and a chest
That beats softer now
Though I still hear the echo

Weather Can Conceal

Weather Can Conceal

To the wintertime
Glisten carefully.
Hold the line.
Apparently in record time.

How does it feel?
Well, question yourself …
Is it like … the first kiss at a high school dance? The first ride in an ambulance?

So, how does it feel?
When your exploding stars
Are disqualified for starting late

A majestic scenery
of your sadness
A beautiful madness
soaks me to the core with doubt
would Love on Love pull me out?

Held in your eyes tears warm as night
Remembered for life
How does it feel?

Grace for the Season

Written By: Travis Armour

Grace for the Season

There’s a place to go, wild eyes to drive you
Romance laws and dreadful coldfronts

And a scent to follow
As you are a May bee of gladness

There’s a width to know, drinking maps to guide you
Special coaches and hard-fought enormity

And a scent to follow
As you are a May bee of sadness

Disconnected … and we’re on a different frequency

So if dogs and cats can get divorced
why do people often settle?

cos they’ve a scent to follow
And you are a flagstick of sadness

There's This Planet, This World ... Then There's Me, There's You and Us Too

Written By: Travis Armour

There’s This Planet, There’s This World, Then There’s Me, There’s You and Us Too

This is a sad tale
Of grace and beauty and death
Of a leopard we no longer spot
In ourselves or otherwise

This is a sad tale
You had to go in danger
And though faithful you were
No saviour observed
Standing alone in the forest of apathy

I cried last night for hours I promised we’d be better
I cried last night for hours promised we’d be better
We cried last night for hours promised you’d be better
We cried last night for hours promised we’d be better
An ignorance of the flaws of probability

A solitary hunter, preying on things that confuse me
Thinking of maps and legends old
Fairytales or otherwise…

This is a sad tale
You had to go in danger
And though faithful you were
No saviour observed
Standing alone in a forest of idiocy
