"Shockwave Magazine Band of the Month"

"The bands exuberance and energy are the catalyst that permeates their live set affecting those in attendance. See why DF is our band of the month!" - Shockwave Magazine

"Raiders of the Wasteland Ep Review"

"Bold, Raw, and Alive. Three words that accurately describe Defiant Caliburs' new CD. Forgoing industry standardized song manipulation techniques like autotune, the CD captures the raw intentions of the music instead of plasticizing the songs. The album has evolved a great deal from previous musical releases and brings out the energy and style that is epitomized in their stage performance. The layered guitar playing sounds meaty, punchy and full. Its nice to hear the natural vocalized shouts of "Rock it Up/Lock it Down", the bands anthem for saying they wanna rock! When you hear a Defiant Calibur song you will remember it, the band has a good song writing formula that reminds me of good 'ol fashioned Rock and Roll, a genre which I have affectionately termed "Fun Rock"." - Shockwave Magazine

"The Raiders of the Wasteland EP" (2012) is described as "Bold, Raw, and Alive." (Dawn LeMay & Ken Weaver, Shockwave Magazine). The lead track "Live for Rock" has been played on Baltimore's 98 Rock numerous times and garnered much local support and attention.

Defiant Calibur is a hard hitting rock n roll four piece that aims to use their diverse influences to create a blend of Heaviness, while still retaining the feel of old school rock n' roll. Defiant Calibur brings a reactive crowd and entertains fans old and new with their crowd enticing, high energy performances that are described as "Old school in your face sweaty fist pumpin' rock n' roll. " With a blend of powerful originals and reworked covers, Defiant Calibur gets the crowd on their feet and singing along to their unforgettable performance.

DeCal was born when Troy (bass/vox) invited Chook (drums/vox) and Nicky J (guitar/vox) to jam at his graduation party on June 27th 2009. Following the success of that jam, the trio decided to Start a band using mutual influences; bands such as Green Day, Led Zeppelin, Avenged Sevenfold and Blink - 182. The name “Calibur" was decided on after months of trying to find a name (Feb 4th 2010) only to find it in use elsewhere, so DeCal had decided to add "Defiant" in front of Calibur and the name stuck. Ben Hagis (guitar/vox) joined Defiant Calibur on September 2nd 2010 learning the set that day and playing a show the same night. With the addition of Ben Hagis' energy, frenzied guitar work and keys , Defiant Calibur's lineup was now complete and are who they are today; in your face straight rock n roll!
