The project “Dejan Pejovic’s Black and White World” started in 2011, and the orchestra was formed in June 2012. The band performs the music that represents a certain mixture of Balkan ethno music and various world music styles: Jazz, Latin, Reggae, Funk, Rock, Swing… Pejovic started the work on music for this project in 1998 when the first song was created.
The most important song “LudilOro” was modestly released in 2002 and brought him many awards abroad. The most important are the two competitions in America:
ISC – International Songwriting Competition (2003) where the members of the jury were the world-renowned artists Pat Metheny and B.B. King, as well as the USA Songwriting Competition, (with more than 33.000 song in competition), where the mentioned song brought him “Honorable Mention Award”.
From this first song from the Opus to date, the author is constantly engaged in producing the ethno music through different film projects “with space for the sound of the Balkans”, from the movie “Life is a Miracle” by E. Kusturica where the author made brass section arrangements, to the cooperation with the pop star of the ’80., Cyndi Lauper for the film "Here and There" by D. Lungulov, for which the author composed the music.
