Este verano, una de las atracciones del Festival de jazz de Winnipeg, en la provincia canadiense de Manitoba, es la noche latina que tendrá lugar el próximo 16 de junio. Esa noche estará coloreada por agrupaciones ya conocidas allí como el Trío Bembé, compuesto por una canadiense que hace música tradicional cubana, y el grupo Papa Mambo, dirigido por un chileno. Esa misma noche, un nuevo talento de la comunidad, Yoslay de la Rosa, de Matanzas, Cuba, presenta su primera producción fuera de la isla, “Guarachando a lo cubano”. Ginella Díaz con esta historia.

Bio
Yoslai De La Rosa born August 8th 1981 in Matanzas Cuba was born with music in his veins. With 10 years of being a Composer, Singer and Manager of the bands Onda Esclusiva, Clon Latino & El Clon in Matanzas, Cuba (30mins from Varadero Cuba). Touring all over Cuba, including Havana, Santa Clara, Santi Espiritus and Varadero, Cuba for audiences of over 20,000 fans.
Performing over 3,000 shows in festivals, Public Events, Hotels of Varadero, and Outdoors Concerts he began by releasing his first album Cosas del amor, recorded by Saema Records and produced by Jorge Luis Montaña of which 8 out of the 10 songs on the album were written and composed by De La Rosa himself. In 2004 he released his second album Resaltando Cubania. His hit single A Caballo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59Ky-VJ54Rs received incredible reviews and quickly became not only a National hit, but an International hit as well. Performing on Cuba’s most popular shows such as, Quedate Conmigo, CH TV, TV Yumury, Tele Cristal, etc…
In August of the same year he performed and was interviewed by Cuba’s top music TV show Super 12. Simultaneously the rest of the album was released and played on Cuba’s top stations Radio 26, Matanzas and Radio Metropolitana, Ciudad de la Habana. With two of the albums most popular hits Bandolera and Te Gusta El Baile he was able to remain on Cuba’s Top 40 List for over 6 months and ended the year with Bandolera as number 10 and Te Gusta El Baile as number 22 on Cuba’s best Best Hits of 2004.
On the bands 5th anniversary in July 2005 they performed a huge concert in their home town of Matanzas for a crowd of over 15,000 people.The show included various other bands and artists performing all in his honor, then on November 2007 they appeared for their biggest crowd appearance to date in the City of Santa Clara for a crowd of over 20,000 people!
In January 2009 Yoslai began a new chapter in his life by moving to Winnipeg Canada. Based on the experience that he had gained over the past 10 years as Composer, Singer, and Manager he starting working on his solo career.
Between August 2009 and May 2010 the recording of his first solo album commenced, with the collaboration of Bayron Ramos for BMB Bros Studios
Guarachando A Lo Cubano
Was released October 2010. This was followed by a highly successful CD release party attended by 300 people at Republic Nightclub in downtown Winnipeg.

Yoslai received great reviews over his performance where, 500+ fans came to see him. From the first song to the last, people were dancing and enjoying the show. The audience couldn't get enought of the energy coming from the stage. Everyone just loved it

Canada Day at Assiniboine Park
Another great turn out. With people of all ages, both young and old enjoying the show and the music. Proof that his music has no age barrier. Once again people loved it and had a great time coming up on stage and dancing with Yoslai himself!
July 9th
Corydon Street Concert Series
According to the representative from the Corydon Biz, Yoslai's performace had the largest turn out they have ever seen. The street was packed with fans and on lookers that couldn't help but lenger for the entire 3 hour show. It was a night filled with great music, lots of dancing and energy.
Yoslai comment: it was my favorite show till now in Canada. Great people, lots of dancing and people loving my music ,what more can I ask for...
