"The Music Connection Mag, September 2004 Edition"

"Real interesting band who've been working all the career angles, landing a slot on the recent Warped Tour. "What We Are" sells its chorus with a nice turn by singer Quentin Bell. But DLV are more than a one-man show and they come hard with impressive group harmonies that help sweeten the guitar grunge. Each tune has been conceived and mounted with imagination -- including counter-harmonies. A must-listen for A&R on the prowl for something new."

"De La Vega Innovation"

"DE LA VEGA - From Provo, Utah, USA, they come. It's rare to get a New Talent demo which sounds like it's by a band who've already made it huge. De La Vega are that: 'Innovation' is an LP which is chock-full of good songs like 'What We Are', 'Innovation', 'Someone Else' (which got our vote for playlisting in the end) and 'All Lies'. The production is solid as f**k!" - www.radio2xs.com

"Innovation"

"I can sum this entire album up in one word: fun. De La Vega is essentially a funk-driven rock band. The songs on this album blend rock music with funk, hip-hop, reggae, punk, and pop. The closest bands I could compare this music to would be Red Hot Chili Peppers and Fishbone. My favorite track on the album is probably the title track, but I like how the band shows off their diversity in the more mellow, and acoustic "Someone Else". This album is definitely for those of us who are open for different music and the experience of learning about a great band." -Dane Jackson - Scratch Magazine

"DLV's Album"

"Creative genius is what separates the hometown heroes from the garage-bands. Those that make it big and stay big are the ones cranking out the new ideas. They are the innovators. De La Vega seems to be Idaho's most likely candidate for stardom. De La Vega's new album name "INNOVATION" is fitting.

So what is the recipe for success?

You take the reggae the rhythm, mix up the rasta rock, and if you wanna feel it, throw in some underground hip-hop…"
…and De La Vega seems to have it. On top of that, a producer of as high a caliber as Don Lithgow doesn't hurt either. Innovation was mostly recorded at DML studios in California, the same studio and producer that has helped bands like Blink 182, Finch, New Found Glory, Unwritten Law, Sublime, Pennywise, the Offspring, NOFX, and Incubus to name but a few. So of course the CD is top notch, and rumor has it that with hook-ups like these, there're possibilities of De La Vega music finding it's way into movie soundtracks and such. It's only a matter of time before talent like this gets noticed and utilized." -Jeremy Butler
