Biography

Delhi is the sum of two parts: Ryan Smart on percussion/drums and David Scott on guitar, piano and vocals. Both aspiring songwriters in their local music scene David and Ryan began writing together near the end of 2008.

With their first EP titled "The Night Song EP" (available at iTunes.ca) Delhi voiced the stories of the "coming of age" of a younger generation. With the title track "Night Song" featuring lyrics like "I went walking the fence built on a fine line, I was talking the trash of the times". Delhi was quick to develop a loyal following playing consistently successful local shows.

After a one year writing process, and more than a dozen songs left on the cutting room floor Delhi are back with a new EP titled "Fake Gold" (due June 2013). Taking a more organic approach on their notably large Rock songs. With the single bellowing "I wish that I could say no, but your body's just golden" Delhi has developed a new edge in their often themed and metaphoric songs.

Delhi is currently booking a line of shows. Check them out at www.delhimusic.ca for more information.

Lyrics

Night Song

Written By: David Scott

I went walking the fence built on a fine line,
I was talking the trash of the times.
I was too young to change my direction,
Then I grew up and felt the affection.

So everybody just clap one time
Everybody feel my life on the line,
We all need to feel loved sometimes,
We all need to hate love sometimes.

Oh, Oh, Oh,
Can you feel the night song?
It's in my mind and it's killing me.

Oh, Oh, Oh,
If you hear it sing along

She went walking the wrong side of her high mind
She was taking the line of the times
She was too young to change her direction
Then she grew up and felt the affection

So everybody just clap one time
Everybody feel my lie on the line
We all need to feel loved sometimes
We all need to hate love somtimes

Oh, Oh, Oh,
Can you feel the night song?
It's in my mind and it's killing me.

Oh, Oh, Oh,
If you hear it sing along

London Lights

Written By: David Scott, Ryan Smart

I can't stand the rain,
That has been coming in on my window pane.
It seems I can't go a day,
Living in worry that I may have pushed you away

I can't seem to be,
Half the man I know I should be and you see I'm strained
It's strange, everything's piling on me
And I can't worry, I can't worry it worries me

I am sorry I didn't write,
Before you took that midnight flight
Off to dance in the London Lights,
The London Lights, the London

And I, wonder where you sleep tonight
And I hope he holds you tight,
Under London Lights, the London Lights,
The London

I can't stand the day
Because the day comes after the night
And the night's got me singing
I can't stand my ways, they've been pulling me down
Frankly I don't where to go and I'm feeling let down

I can't seem to be
Half the boy I knew I used to be
And see I'm strained
It's strange everything's piling on me
And I can't worry, I can't worry it worries me.

I am sorry I didn't write,
Before you took that midnight flight
Off to dance in the London Lights,
The London Lights, the London

And I, wonder where you sleep tonight
And I hope he holds you tight,
Under London Lights, the London Lights,
The London
