Delirium ska.punk.brass

Delirium SPB is a product of many influences. The Soul Rebels, a New Orleans style brass band with hip-hop leanings, were the original inspiration and set the instrumentation. Early No Doubt is the other original influence, mostly because No Doubt was formed to try to be like Madness while pulling off dance-party music. We've been pulling together our favourite music, from ska classics, to reggae, to 80's power rock, to movie themes, and have put them into the high energy dance-focused brass band instrumentation. We have Margo on female power vocals for half the songs, the others are instrumentals with the occasional male vocal (John). The uniqueness comes from playing rock with no guitars, and no piano, so all the energy and structure has to come from the arranged horn licks. We're staying true to the New Orleans Street Band tradition by not having a drum kit, instead having a snare drummer and a bass drummer. Members include some seasoned professional horn players and some young stars to make it happen. This is high energy club/dance/rock music with a ska/punk influence, but not like anything you've heard before.
