Bio

About 3 years ago, the Carolina Mass Choir was birthed in the hearts of its co-founders, Geoff Wasserman and Dell Barkley, with a vision of ministering cross-culturally, as a reflection of heaven, helping bring down the walls that separate God’s people. The multi-cultural, multi-racial and multi-denominational choir is comprised of African-American, Caucasian, Native American and Hispanic singers, complimented by a tight-knit band that consider themselves a family. Their music, all-original, includes praise and worship, urban-contemporary, Latin and traditional black gospel. Carolina Mass Choir’s first live project, Higher, was released in 2005. Nearly a thousand people joined together to participate in this live worship experience at Word of Faith Christian Fellowship. With lights, camera and a video documentary, Richard Dawkins of Praise 103.3FM said it best... "Greenville, South Carolina has not seen anything like this." Carolina Mass Choir has appeared with Fred Hammond, J Moss, The Williams Brothers, Martha Munizzi, Trent Cory, and Stephen Hurd, The Crabb Family, Harlem Gospel Choir to name a few. They've headlined at Fall For Greenville, Artisphere, Festival of Faiths, MLK Dream Weekend, Freedom Weekend Aloft and Spiritfest. They have appeared with notable speakers such as Darlene Bishop, Bishop Tony Miller, Apostle Ron Carpenter, Bishop Vaughn McLaughlin, and Dr. Bernice King and have been featured on Bobby Jones Gospel Presents on the Word Network, and BET to follow. The choir’s first single, "We Have Come Together To Praise Him, " is a rousing funk tune that mixes strong choir vocals and a powerful lead by Debbie Barkley. The choir’s single is receiving radio play in multiple markets including all over South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, Connecticut, New York, Texas, Arizona, and North Carolina. The choir also released a Christmas single, "The Greatest Gift," which has garnered praise from many as a highly requested radio song. In 2006, the choir completed a promotional tour of the Southeast, appeared on Bobby Jones, presented a powerful and original Easter musical, "Resurrected ," and is preparing for their next project, to be released in Summer 2007. While they look like no other choir, their message is clear.
