"Once in a while, a band come along with songs that are so instantaneously marvellous, you can't help but fall in love with them. 'In Love with Detail' is immediate in its power and sheer enthusiasm; it's obvious that this is a band who love what they're doing. One listen to this album - surely one of 2007's best " -

"Fuzzy guitar lines, duel vocals, infectious melodies... spiky, tight, indie punk."

Irish album of the year Winners DELORENTOS drifted together in the usual fashion inspired by boredom, creative energy, and a passion for music obvious reference points are Pixies, The Cure, The Clash and Arcade Fire. More oblique influences slide in from most genres of music and virtually every decade from the 50s onwards.

Over a period of time that saw others attempt to tie down a description of their sound, they holed up in the seaside wilds of Portrane, Co Dublin on Irelands east coast and concentrated on writing songs, pure and simple. They had no interest in the frills and fripperies or the empty bombast that occupy other bands; for them it has always been about 4 people communing to harness honest emotion, fashion melodic hooks, and roll out infectious rhythms.

The 4-piece have released four critically acclaimed albums:

In Love With Detail (2007) Top 10 charting album, nominated for Best Album at both the Choice Music Prize and the Meteor Awards.

You Can Make Sound (2009) hit number 2 in the Irish charts and won the Album of the Year accolade on

Little Sparks (2012) Meteor Choice Irish album of the Year. third Top 10 charting album in a row and one that was heaped with acclaim and a string of 4 and 5 star reviews,

Night Becomes Light (2014) Meteor Choice Irish Album of the year Shortlist, Top 5 album, 4/5 star reviews throughout.

Night Becomes Light is the fourth and most highly acclaimed of the bands career, and sees them poised for Worldwide success, not just Ireland.

The bands Little Sparks album project, brought a whole new approach to the bands activities. In late 2011 the band wrote and put together a one-off full colour magazine that became the packaging for a 4-track EP and represented the first glimpse of the bands Little Sparks recording sessions.

In a frenzy of activity the band organized an acoustic tour of Ireland (and learned to play a whole load of new instruments along the way) heading out to play churches and theatres the length and breadth of the country and offering a whole new insight into their music along the way.

By the beginning of 2012 Delorentos had decided to promote their new album, Little Sparks in a fashion unique to music in Ireland. They set out to regenerate unused shopping units in the main towns and cities of the country taking them over for one day each to run a series of Pop-Up shops in which music fans could gather, chat with the band and be treated to free impromptu acoustic sessions of songs from the new album.

At the same time they announced a full tour of electric shows and festivals in Ireland and the beginnings of an ongoing tour of Spanish venues and festivals (the high point of which, so far, has been playing to 15,000 enraptured fans at the SOS Festival in Murcia).

The touring continues as does the story!
