Long ago, Styles and Alex began writing songs in a magical prairie for all the woodland creatures to enjoy. From receiving such an enthusiastic response from the animals and trees, they decided to start a project more focused on a human audience. That project was called the ‘Warm Guns’. Through months of low quality living room recordings Styles and Boyle started to piece together a beautiful sound inspired by classic blues/rock and modern indie music. The sound however was in need of live bass and drums. Styles had worked previously in an indie/hip-hop troupe called ‘The Jones’ as a co-front man with Kevin Galagan who played guitar and sang. Kevin’s forte, although was bass. He has played bass with local Seattle band ‘Red Cigarette’ and currently works on his own solo project as a singer/songwriter. We enlisted Kevin immediately and began to cultivate this new found sound together. It was not complete until percussionist Larry Blake came into view. Larry has a history of playing in over 25 different bands from Connecticut to Hawaii, most recently ‘Breaking the Innocence’. His back round has mostly included hard rock or metal style music, but was instantly into the groove we laid before him. Kevin and Larry have strategically created an unmatched rhythm section complete with fuck/rock grooves that stay high energy and generate the unconscious head bob if you’re not already on the dance floor! Alex ties into this fuck/rock vibe with a classic and psychedelic influence of blues, rock, and jazz. Alex’s Blues heritage began at birth, being the son of NW Blues Guitar legend Tom Boyle ‘T-Boy Neal’. His passion for music itself is a lifestyle which wakes him up every morning and leads him directly to his Stratocaster! Styles Bently dabbled in music throughout his education playing trumpet in band and singing bass/baritone in choir. The true passion arose when he became a freestyle hip-hop master and realized music could be the medium for his writing talent. His lyrics are surreal, outrageous, deep, and uplifting as he strives for his words to create feeling and meaning interpreted within each individuals mind. Together, these four have created a sound that is truly unique. Del Smpl Wait strives to pull people out of their normal day lives, to think more deeply about the world around us, and most importantly to dance and move to the music! Our one of a kind epic groove is a sound no one can resist!
