Deltanaut formed in the fall of 2007 and yet is a gathering of long-time friends. Deltanaut is guitarist Chris Grady, bassist Darwin Ballard and drummer Nick Menza, whose resume includes a decade long stint with platinum selling metal act, MEGADETH. The ensemble was completed by the additions of long-time friend and vocalist extraordinaire Brian Williams and lead guitarist and vocalist Colin Reid. Grady then approached good friend and noted producer-to-the-stars, Roy Z (DOWNSET, TRIBE OF GYPSIES, JUDAS PRIEST) who was instrumental in focusing the group's direction and songwriting. With Z at the helm, the group laid down a half dozen tracks that would fashion the core of Deltanaut's forthcoming debut album, including 'Last Dance', 'Clearly', '1 Better', 'Sacrifice' and 'The King', the latter featuring guest saxophonist: The Red Baron. Other guest spots include Roy Z on lead guitar, keyboardist Ed Roth (GLENN HUGHES, RONNIE MONTROSE), and Mark Boals (ULI JON ROTH, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) on backing vocals.

Deltanaut's influences range from 70's style classic rock and progressive sounds of the 21st Century. This combination has given the band it's unique feel which they have coined The New California Sound. Deltanaut hunkered down and channeled their energies into crafting a set of songs that define their collective vision. You now hold, in your hands, that vision fulfilled.
