Demetrius (TheBlackSecurity)

Born and raised on the Westside of Chicago, Demetrius found his musical talents through the roots of his family. Always putting on a show in front of peers, he was a born entertainer. Most artist claim to have experienced a lot in their life, and some have, but Demetrius is a product of two…three different worlds.

The first performance that he had was at the age of eleven and that was at his mother’s funeral. A bittersweet moment for him giving he just lost his mother but found his passion. Shortly after, word got around his Westside neighborhood that he could really blow! Eventually he was singing in battles against people showing and proving that he was the best. It did not stop there! He got into the b-boyin scene and developed his talents there; all while learning more about music on the production side.

While attending college Demetrius decided to take some time away from singing. He learned how to play the guitar and he found that writing songs was another gift that he possessed as well. Demetrius has had a lot of musical influence for his music. Some new and old, the one thing that this unique artist has that most artist do not have is the ability to switch/match several different genres of music in his sets and while performing his own music. This he says, “gives people that rollercoaster ride that albums/sets should give you…its not about singles or one remix…carry the tune for a whole 10-16 songs…and now you’ve done something!” Demetrius will guarantee you a great show and listen every time.
