Articulating his unique flow of rhythm and praise, Demetrus has released his highly anticipated CD entitled “God’s Child” (Kaught Upp Music) in stores now. With guest features from some of the nation’s top recording artists like Canton Jones and the soulful sounds of Lisa McClendon, and Mr. Lynx. Demetrus is infiltrating the industry with power and authority. His first single off the new album is entitled “We Coming Thru.” The video may be viewed at www.youtube.com. It is no secret that Demetrus has an extraordinary anointing to impact the hearts of both young and mature audiences. This was made evident when his last two projects, “3 The God Way” and “I Still Remember.”
“God’s Child” exclaims Demetrus’ intimate and heart felt testimony of learning just four years ago that he was adopted. He has shared his pain, process and healing throughout every line, and although the journey has been tough, Demetrus has had many great accomplishments along the way. He is now an ordained minister and is successfully living out one of his dreams as an effective youth pastor. Demetrus may not know his biological parents, but one thing is for certain, he is definitely grateful to be called “God’s Child.”
Demetrus is the son of a preacher and has been raised in the church. He always knew God had a plan for his life, but like many, he strayed away to the lure and money of the streets. Facing an incident that threatened to send him to prison for 12 years, Demetrus re-dedicated his life to Christ in 1998. He attributes his freedom to Christ and says, “It’s because of God’s enormous grace and mercy that I was allowed a second chance.”
Demetrus’ proven ability to “rock the crowd” has lead to the development of a following across the nation and the opportunity to share the stage with several national recording artists such as Fred Hammond, Grits, Out of Eden, Storyside B, Papa San, Tye Tribett, and Kirk Franklin just to name a few. In addition to be a talented vocalist, Demetrus has preached the gospel across the country as well as over seas including Bahamas Faith Ministries under Dr. Miles Monroe.
