"Taking Back Sunday – Academy, Dublin"

"...Earlier in the evening, the unusual aroma of Clearasil and nail polish fill the air as Limerick based The Demise take to the stage. Admitting that they don’t stick to a set-list and appearing to follow drummer Kieran Hayes’ lead, the foursome bash out some tight tunes to a warm reception. They share a sound somewhat similar to early 00’s American Exports (Sum 41, The Offspring, Yellowcard), albeit with lyrics that are as epic and over-the-top as early Metallica, which is not necessarily a bad thing. They too are vocally affected by heavy American accents which is not an endearing quality, at least not for an Irish band, but that aside they do have the calibre of songs and talent to suitably entertain the attentive audience." - State Magzine

Bio

The Demise are a four-piece punk rock band from Limerick, Ireland who bring a distinctive blend of melodic, thrashing guitars, wild drums and strong harmonies to the scene, unlike any that has been heard in Ireland for many years now. So listen up because you won't want to miss a single note!

Over the course of their three years together - which has taken them from around Ireland across to Europe as far as Germany - they have released two EP's and one single and played support to many great bands including Rise Against, Taking Back Sunday, Capdown, Supersuckers, Gang Green, Twin Atlantic, New Bruises, The Dangerfields, Giveamanakick, Messiah J and The Expert, The Corona's and many more.

2009 has been the bands most successful year to date with the band playing with American punk heavyweights Rise Against and Taking Back Sunday in both Dublin and Belfast after being invited by the bands during their respective tours.

Plans for the rest of the year include the release of the band's debut full-length album and their first UK tour.
