"D E N A – Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools"

Hailing from Bulgari, D E N A burst onto the scene with a highly intriguing summer anthem titled "Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools." The footage that accompanies the upbeat single highlights the now Berlin-based act, dancing around a flea market and interacting with random individuals passing by. D E N A definitely comes through with a refreshing sound and positive energy, which you can check for yourself via the aesthetics above. Let us know what you think of the up-and-coming female artist as we hope to hear more soon. - Hypetrak

"Berlin-based singer Denitza Todorova spits tons of attitude, turning 90s pop on its head."

2011 was a watershed year in shedding light on the overwhelming current influence of 90s R&B pop on a lot of the music we hear today. Ghost Town DJs’ ‘My Boo’, a 1996 hit, was covered by Brooklyn’s Friends and Balam Acab respectively in the space of two heady months. It was as if someone had suddenly flicked a switch and decided that it wasn’t just ok to like this style of glossy production, it was absolutely imperative that you adored it.

D E N A, a Berlin popstar unlike any other, is the natural extension from this sudden turn of events. But rather than seemingly cuddling up next to trends, the Bulgarian-born, Berlin-residing singer is capable of turning hip-hop beats and R&B synths inside out, where they’re no longer recognisable to their former selves.

And best of all she spits tons of attitude, especially in the recent video for ‘Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools’, which, while bereft of appeal to those who still aren’t able to use the word “swag” in everyday conversation, is resplendent in cool. - DYI

"Video: D E N A "Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools""

“Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools” is just the third song from Denitza Todorova bka D E N A, an artist with a charming Bulgarian-via-Berlin accent, an insane floral print suit and a gift for jutting her bottom lip to look bored and interesting at the same time. We’re coming to this one a week late—Disco Naïveté premiered the video, Charli XCX cosigned and Portals scored an interview—but have a feeling the song could linger through the summer. It’s got the perfect sentiment for left-field barbecue playlists: All I want is you with my friends by the swimming pool.

It's an ode to three things everyone loves, and the perfect song to pop off poolside this summer. D E N A lives in Berlin (she was born and raised in Bulgaria), and the video for her third song she's released shows her strolling through a flea market, rocking an array of loud outfits, and jamming out to her feel-good track with local vendors.
