Every band has a story...this is DENDURA's

Progressive, melodic art metal band, Dendura, came together in February of 2004. Gathering sounds and influences from Eastern forms of music, Dendura aims to create songs that have depth and flavor from cultures of and other than their own while drawing from the more progressive and technical side of hard rock and metal. The band has been described from Red Crow of Cyberzine as “having a hypnotic touch” with a heavy sound and from Music Revue Magazine as “powerful vocals and a melodic sound with the ability to mesmerize you with it’s power”.

Though the group has had some success thus far, it hasn't come without major setbacks and obstacles. Going through a lineup change (drums & keys) and loosing their music at a prior studio, the Dendura camp have endured some heartache and loss. Soldiering on through, Dendura found Audio Bay Studios in Rockford, MI and released their 3 song demo titled “I Have A Gun” on July 29th of 2005. Since then, Dendura has been approached by several filmmakers, promoters, managers and industry professionals to use their unique sound in their films. Currently the band has 6 feature films their music is heard in.

Dendura is described as a fresh new sound, with melodic, agressive and classical female vocals led by Aziza (aka Amy Poggi) with shredding guitar riffs & intricate solos played by Steven Wethy, extremely technical and percussive bass played by Mike Fatzinger and aggressive and tribal drumming rounded out by Jeremy Duffy. The band was once a 5 piece with a live keyboardist. Since the missing 5th is no where to be found yet, Poggi has taken over keys in the studio and plays on some intros, outros and breaks live.

Dendura is band with a sound all their own. To this day, no one can identify whom the band sounds like. Most of their music is in minor scales giving it a haunting and darker feel. Making sure they aren’t a carbon copy, Dendura strives to keep their sound unique, driving and mesmerizing while challenge themselves musically every day.

Dendura's debut album "New Life" is due out on April 22nd, 2006 at their reopening show for the film premier of Cycle Of Fear. One of the movies Dendura’s music is featured in.
