Bio
Denial Method was formed in 2005 and still consists of all the original members. Originally a Phoenix Metal band, the band through time found its love for melody and simplicity in writing and slowly became the alternative/heavy rock band it is today.
Curt, Kent, and Shelly had played together previously on many different project. In July of 2005, they placed an online add seeking out a vocalist to audition and Matt Schultz responded. After the audition, the band offered him the spot and they began writing the first of their music. Shortly after accepting Matt, they placed a call to Rob (former lead vocalist of Obsidian and Face at the End) to take the role of a second guitarist. Within the first few practices the band wrote the song Saint, which would capture fans and point the direction of where the band would take their music in the coming Years. Saint was the first break away from the standard Metal song which also allowed Matt the first opportunity to showcase his true vocal range and ability.
A year and a half later, the band felt it had finally found its niche within Modern Rock and began working on their first album. The process of writing, planning and producing the album took an additional year as Denial Method was set on making sure their album was exactly as they wanted it to be.
In Early February, they began their first promotional push, as all previous fans had more or less accidentally found Denial Method. The promotional push which is still in it's early stages, took of far better than the band had hope... within 2 weeks they moved up to #8 in alternative and #30 in Rock (as of the writing of this biography, they are #6 in Alternative and #29 in rock.. these numbers change slightly almost daily) And within two weeks hit the top 12 on ursession.com (currently #5). "This isn't even the beginning yet" says Matt "The CD is still a week away from release and that’s when it really starts. I'm excited to say where we'll be in a year’s time"
A quote from PhreakingPhoenix, a popular AZ show critic and Rock junkie had the following to say about Denial methods live performance...
"Denial Method's heavy sound with alternative style vocals set off the night. Matt's surging rhythm of raw emotion backed by Shelly and Rob's intoxicating guitar currents gave us a true taste of something different. Each song getting a little louder and a little sweatier than the last, leaving an emotional impact rarely found. I will be first in line to pick up their new CD on March 14th at The Clubhouse."
