Bio

Dennis Callahan is untrained, unknown, and unsigned. He has only recently begun recording demos of songs which he has been writing under his breath for years. He works strictly with acoustic instruments (acoustic guitar and piano), probably because that is all he has access to.

His songs combine the lyrical atmosphere of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan with the pop sensibility of Elton John and The Beatles.
Other strong influences include The Smiths, Radiohead, Coldplay, Nick Drake, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Randy Newman, etc.

His songs open up in front of you during the first listen and succeed in making the listener smile, laugh, cry, or maybe even scratch their head a little.

His true love for music began with punk rock, squeezing in at Boston hardcore shows featuring Reach The Sky, American Nightmare and Bane. His appreciation then somehow blossomed into obessions with The Beatles, Bob Dylan and Elton John. This range of influence has created an unlimited respect and passion for all areas of music, and his songwriting is just as unbounded.

At 21 years old, with over 100 unheard songs under his belt, Dennis Callahan is ready to see where his music can take him, whether it be a sweaty Boston basement with 20 kids or 18,000 fans at the Hollywood Bowl.
