Dennis Logan

BandRockSinger/Songwriter

All songs were written by Dennis Logan and Larry Lind. Larry wrote almost all of Dylans 60's hits including, Like a Rolling Stone, Mr Tamburine Man, Positivly 4th st, Just Like A Woman.

Biography

Living in Southern California, Dennis met Ricky in 1980 when Ricky auditioned for Dennis' band, The Glyders. They have been musical partners ever since. Dennis Moved to Nashville in 2003 to work with his partner, 6 time Grammy winning producer and engineering legend, Tom Pick. Tom brought this project to Dennis and engineered the sessions with Gene Christman, (formerly Elvis' Drummer) Mike Chapman, (formerly Garth Brooks bass player), Pat Seevers on steel and David Russell on mandolin/fiddle. Along with Ricky and the boys from California, Infidel was born. Tom introduced Dennis to lyricist, Larry Lind and his partner and current label head, Mike Fitzmaurice. Larry Lind has writen the lyrics to several hit songs for artists such as, Bob Dylan and Jay and the Americans. Larry wrote the lyrics for Dennis Logan's new CD. Dennis wrote 13 songs in 3 weeks using Larry's lyrics. When Mike Fitzmaurice, Vicor Music International, heard the demo ot the songs, he offered Dennis a recording contract. The funny thing is, dennis wasn't looking for a record deal. Sometimes good things just fall out of the sky. Dennis' new CD, Infidel, Is the result of the Nashville sessions. Dennis Recorded 6 of the songs on, Infidel, in southern California at Dave Beyer's studio in Glendale, CA. The result is a powerful look at the USA of today and a call to protest the coruption of our leaders and the plight of the people. It is the 60's all over again and Dennis want to start a new protest movement. If, We the People, get off our butts and take to the streets we can change the direction of the misguided leaders of our country. Only if we unite and protest will we have a future we all can live with. If we do nothing then we deserve what we get.

Lyrics

Shades Of Sorrow

Written By: Larry Lind

THE SHADES OF SORROW
The love driven mother of the ghetto bound child,
Is caught in a quandary that drives her wild,
Broken and busted and burned out and blue,
She knows what is right is something she just can’t do,
Who can she turn to there’s no one there
There’s no one to help her, no one to car.
Lives are being lost in this war without guns,
It’s disturbing to know her fate disturbs no one.
chorus
And the shades of sorrow rage through our land,
Some see them clearly, most don’t understand,
They’re felt in the souls of each feeling man,
The shades of sorrow rage through our land through our land

He runs like the wind, he has hands of glue,
He’s caught all the passes all the passers threw
A college star, it’s all that he needs,
Run spot, jump Dick is all he can read.
They body of a lion, drives an SUV,
Prime time sports hero, without a degree,
No one takes notice except for the score,
His future is a disaster and that’s for sure
chorus
And the shades of sorrow rage through our land,
Some see them clearly, most don’t understand,
They’re felt in the souls of each feeling man,
The shades of sorrow rage through our land.
bridge
He bets on the ball games, so do his friends,
Blind to the fact he’s robbing his family again,
Vegas and casinos are exciting to him,
He’s been, stripped of his manhood, his chances are slim,
Nobody cares for the sucker there’s no sorrow for him.
Chorus
And the shades of sorrow rage through our land,
Some see them clearly, most don’t understand.
They’re felt in the souls of each feeling man,
The shades of sorrow rage through our land through our land

The ghetto school’s dirty, the teachers don’t care,
You can get an education watching educating there,
In the classrooms they’re simply housing these youths,
There’s no one to tell them the bitter, bleak truth.

We Are The Childern Born Of Thr Storm Of Tomorrow

Written By: Larry Lind

WE ARE THE CHILDREN BORN OF THE STORM OF TOMORROW

Your wars are still histories
Of numbers who have died
Your politicians have stolen and lied
I’m sure that you have tried
Chorus
And we are the children born of the storm of tomorrow
Born of the storm of tomorrow

Look at you father see if you find
Growing old is growing behind
For new thoughts are needed
To help guide mankind
Chorus
And we are the children born of the storm of tomorrow
Born of the storm of tomorrow

You robber oil barons have sold this land short
Use gas just like water we were raised we were taught
The war in Arabia’s for democracy
But their black gold is all we will free
Chorus
And we are the children born of the storm of tomorrow
Born of the storm of tomorrow
Bridge
We are your daughters we are your sons
You give the orders and we carry the guns
We the children will be the dead ones
Chorus
And we are the children born of the storm of tomorrow
Born of the storm of tomorrow

I volunteered to defend our land
Now on the frontlines I don’t understand
My comrades are dying in a useless war
My survival is all I’m fighting for

Every Generation

Written By: Larry Lind\ Dennis Logan

EVERY GENERATION

It seems we’ve found a system
To turn people out like pistons on a line;
And people aren’t people
They’re just numbers on an endless sea of time
And if you grow up different
They look at you as if you were a crime
Cause you can’t count numbers and you won’t swim in their sea of time

chorus
Every generation thinks its dreams have never been dreamt before
And every generation thinks that it alone can end all wars
And every generation grows older quicker
But I’m not so sure what every generation is generated for.

Now if you turn to Jesus
And worship the things the Good Book said,
You will find they break all of His rules
And write their own instead.
Their God is a TV set
Keeps pounding at their heads
The calories are counted and the Lone Ranger is dead.

chorus
Every generation thinks its dreams have never been dreamt before
And every generation thinks that it alone can end all wars
And every generation grows older quicker
But I’m not so sure what every generation is generated for.

Young John tried to save them,
But they shot you down in your prime;
Shiftless numbered fools
Drifting through an endless sea of time
Where every day is an eternity with no reason or rhyme
And maybe this generation
Will put an end to yours and mine

chorus
Every generation thinks its dreams have never been dreamt before
And every generation thinks that it alone can end all wars
And every generation grows older quicker
But I’m not so sure what every generation is generated for
… What every generation is generated for m-m-m oh oh oh

Their God is a TV set keeps pounding at their heads
The calories are counted and the Lone Ranger is dead

Infidel

Written By: Larry Lind\ Dennis Logan

INFIDEL

When you have your morning coffee with your family at home
You’re like most Americans you’re not alone
If there is one lesson for you to learn then learn this lesson well
No matter what you ever do you are an infidel

Be you black or white or yellow, be you caramel or tan
Every child every woman as well as every man
In almost every nation where peace loving people dwell
Open up your ears you and your peers you are all infidels

Chorus 1
I don’t know why I don’t know where
I don’t know how And I don’t know when
But I know they’re gonna try to hit us again
And again and again and again.

The Arabian Jehad simply means put to death those we know so well
Their warrior’s plan is to take a stand and destroy every single infidel
Talking heads all debate if force is the best way
We’ll try to reason with a Zealot who comes to kill your family one day

Chorus 2
And if you see a mushroom cloud rising in L.A.
And if the TV set is screaming 10 million died today
It will be because our new leaders have forgotten a tale we need to tell
No matter what we ever do we are all infidels
Chorus 1
I don’t know why I don’t know where
I don’t know how And I don’t know when
But I know they’re gonna try to hit us again
And again and again and again. And again and again and again and again
Chorus 2
And if you see a mushroom cloud rising in L.A.
And if the TV set is screaming 10 million died today.
It will be because our new leaders have forgotten a tale we all need to tell
No matter what we ever do we are all infidels.

When you’re driving in your shiny car
Remember those Twin Towers fell
And 3,000 lost their lives because they were infidels

Chorus 1
I don’t know why I don’t know where
I don’t know how And I don’t know when
But I know they’re gonna try to hit us again
And again and again and again and again and again and again and again

The Indians

Written By: Larry Lind

THE INDIANS

They rode amongst the buffalo across the sprawling plains
With hearts that felt no hatred and arms that sowed the grains
They had eyes that saw for many miles and ears attuned to hear
Souls that knew no word called greed and minds that knew no fear
chorus
We called them the savages and laughed at their way of life
Then spit lead at each man, woman and child
Armed with a simple bow and knife
But our fore fathers never understood when by force we took this land
No matter what good we ever do
Their blood is on our hands their blood is on our hands

They lived in groups of families where the wisest lead the way
They moved their homes as seasons changed for they measured every day.
They spawned no mighty armies built no towers to the sky
They loved their brethren and their lives no objects they could buy

chorus
We called them the savages and laughed at their way of life
Then spit lead at each man, woman and child
Armed with a simple bow and knife
But our fore fathers never understood when by force we took this land
No matter what good we ever do
Their blood is on our hands their blood is on our hands

All that has changed you tell me since we’ve stolen their land
And criss-crossed it with highways and monuments built to man
We learned from books and worked the wealth these resources bring,
We forged a mighty nation and let our freedom ring

CHORUS

MUSICAL INTERLUDE

CHORUS

Yet we were blind to what we saw people of peace in a sacred place
Who never built castles in which to dwell and they moved from place to place
They swam the bluest rivers rode up on the mountains high
They celebrated none but themselves each held his head up high

CHORUS
Their blood is on our hands (2X)

The Great deceiver

Written By: Lind\Logan

THE GREAT DECEIVER

One time Babe you held the magic lantern,
That filled the night with its electric glow,
The smiles and kisses that you gave me,
Seemed so special then until I truly came to know
That your whole life’s just our deception,
And it is sad but it is oh so true,
That the only one you end up deceiving
Combs her long black hair in the mirror
And beams smiles back at you.

Your trade torn tricks are worn and withered
Your lids to life less to believe,
You’re a beauty it’s my duty to adore you,
But no one can implore you
All is lost when you deceive.

Some fat assed plumber is your conquest
Or faceless mailman who’ll never understand,
Why a girl like you, a living Goddess,
Needs to feel the comfort of his hands.

CHORUS Your whole life’s just one deception,
And it is sad but it is oh so true,
The only one you end up deceiving,
Combs her raven hair in the mirror
And beams smiles back at you!

Weird Alice tells me I can no longer lust for you,
But she can’t see the pleasure in my pain.
I’m, a taker, taking all I can from you.
And deceiving the Great Deceiver once again.
