Mike Boehn, LA Times pop music critic, has written "Reed's songs feature the deft, pithy descriptions of the flatlands, desert communities and little mountain villages, in which themes of love and small-town living are entwined. He has simple stories to tell about the raw feelings of people who hold tightly to tenuous strands of love, or who see the need to let go but can barely face it." Chris Powers, WORT-FM, Madison, Wisconsin says "Reed's songwriting has an immediate appeal, inventive and catchy, its message clear and plain-spoken. I'm always on the lookout for new music--on the show I play bluegrass, newgrass, new acoustic music, a little acoustic swing, some old-time tunes, and anything else that might happen along. It's refreshing to find an artist who sound fits the show and yet sounds different from everything else out there.

Reed has done live radio concerts onKPFK in Los Angeles, KPCC in Pasadena and KSBR in Mission Viejo. His recent recordings have garnered airplay throughout North America, Europe, South America and particularly in Australia. Numerous positive reviews of his live performances and recordings have been published in the Los Angeles Times, Blues Access, Dirty Linen, Blues Revue and Living Blues.
