Denny Kolsch

 Cocoa, Florida, USA

Denny has been sober for five years. After years of drug abuse, Kolsch finally found support from a compassionate community at the age of 22. He joined the non-profit group To Write Love on Her Arms to share his remarkable story and help students realize that rescue and recovery is possible.

Denny Kolsch joined the To Write Love on Her Arms in 2008 after graduating from the Florida State University with a B.A. in humanities and philosophy. He acts as director of the TWLOHA University Chapters program, bringing the message and mission of TWLOHA to university and college campuses.

When he is not developing the UChapters program, Kolsch spends his time speaking on behalf of the organization, sharing his own story of addiction, depression, and recovery. Kolsch's several years of drug abuse culminated in heroin addiction at the age of 19, leading him to a life of isolation and shame. It wasn't until a compassionate community reached into Kolsch's life that he began the process of recovery.

Sober since the age of 22, today Kolsch continues his personal journey and community mission. His story is a reminder that hope is real and rescue is possible.
