"'Million Dollar Quartet' is a rock 'n' roll treasure"

Derek Keeling's Johnny Cash, for instance, thrills the audience with his how-low-can-you-go vocal register...

As Johnny Cash, Mr. Keeling brings rich, deep vocals to opening-night audience favorites "Folsom City Blues" and "I Walk the Line," plus a mighty duet with Mr. Ferris of "Sixteen Tons" and "My Babe."

"Fun cast sparkles"

Keeling is that rarity seldom seen since the days of Cary Grant - namely, a hunky guy who can play comedy...a terrific singer. - Los Angeles Times

Bio

With his amazing American charisma, Derek Keeling is poised to be one of his generation's most memorable performers and songwriters. After receiving his musical training and degree at the University of Kentucky, he has performed all over America and across the world. He spent many years performing in such Broadway shows as Grease (as Danny) and Million Dollar Quartet (as Johnny Cash).

Derek is best known for his run on NBC’s Grease: You’re the One That I Want, in which he placed third in Broadway’s largest national casting call. But his experience covers a wide range of dramas and musicals, touching every genre and audience. A born performer who has studied dance since the age of three, Keeling made his Broadway debut in the summer of 2008 as Danny Zuko in Grease. He and the musical have an illustrious, 6-year history, “I'll never be as cool as Danny Zuko,” Keeling laughs, “but I've gotten pretty good over the last six years at pretending that I am.”

Derek recently came off of a tour with Million Dollar Quartet where he played the role of the Man in Black Johnny Cash on the National Tour from Fall 2011 through Winter 2012.

Derek now lives in Nashville and devotes his time to song writing and performing. He recently recorded his Live EP, of which he was the sole writer, at the infamous Sun Studios in Memphis, TN. He signed with Twilx Publishing in Nashville, and is also recording new music.
