So wonderful that Skinner now travels back and forth to New York City where he is working with songwriters and producers and in contract discussions with a few record labels.
"I'm not really ready to talk about all that yet," Skinner said. "But it's been pretty amazing. I go to New York about every other weekend and work with some really great people."
Skinner said he might try out for next season's "American Idol." Just one more way to make use of his years of training, but he knows it isn't as easy as some people think.
"They make it look so easy on TV," he said. "But there's a lot of work to it. The really good singers, they put in hours and hours of vocal training."
A student at the University of Michigan-Flint and Mott Community College, Skinner is working second shift at GM Service and Parts Operations while working on his music career.

I am 23 years old, and singer/ song writer for pop rock music. I have been involved with music for about 9 years including vocals and dance,I have recorded 5 songs with Mike G, and the most recent song “Fools Fool” which is starting to gain a lot of air time with local radio. I have been working on a demo with several people such as Mike G, Phil Kross from Jive records, and Debi from EMI, so I can have the best demo to pitch. As for performing live, I have played many state wide venues. I am gaining a lot of publicity through Michigan news papers and new stations that are doing segments on me, also been interviewed by pop star magazine.
