"Interview: Des and The Swagmatics PRINCE, WONDER BAR AND GROOVY MUSIC"

"I remember seeing her perform at The Saint as a solo performer on a crowded night in December. The show itself was a bit of a train wreck as it was this odd combination of poetry, art and musicians that just didn’t fit. The crowd was more into hanging out than the paying attention to the music. That is until Des stepped on stage. Armed with only an acoustic guitar, she blew everyone away the moment she began singing. Her voice stopped the entire room and everyone was laser-focused on her magnificent pipes" - Bill Bodkin for popbreak.com

"The 9 Jersey Shore bands you need to hear"

"When you combine excellent musicianship with stage polish and a good helping of funky riffs, you've got a winning formula. Des and the Swagmatics have been around for a few years but they're on the ascent. Their set as Prince and the Revolution at the Wonder Bar's Halloween show is still buzzed about and dynamic Deseree Spinks is a new millennium Carly Simon with soul.

"Des has beautiful pipes," Feola said. "The lady can sing."" - Chris Jordan

"We're Ghosts Now, Des and The Swagmatics, Morningside Lane Played Happy Mondays, 1/19/15 (PHOTOS)"

"The band burned up The Wonder Bar with an abundance of positive energy. Their performance of "Sunny Side" was just what I needed after a dreary couple of days. They closed things out with a faithful cover of Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" that had everyone moving." - Jim from CoolDadMusic.com

"7 Best Things to do in NJ this Weekend"

The show, dubbed "Convention Hell," is the brainchild of Dark City Entertainment, and will start at 7 p.m. New Brunwick alt trio Screaming Females will headline the night, performing a set of original tunes and some covers from as the legendary L.A. punk outfit X. Other bands include: Dentist (as Green Day), Des & The Swagmatics (as Stevie Wonder), Lost in Society (as The Clash), and members of Ether Sunday and Yawn Mower jamming as Nirvana. - nj.com

"Mogo Music Spotlight"

MOGO Korean Fusion Tacos will be donating $1 from every taco sold at the event towards supporting local musicians and investing in the future of Asbury Park’s music scene. The proceeds will go to the Asbury Park Where Music Lives youth initiative, which provides musical education programming, lessons and musical instruments for Asbury Park’s youth. Tonight at 8pm, Des and the Swagmatics will kick off another night of free music on the Asbury boardwalk for a great cause. Let's get to know more about Des and the Swagmatics!

Des and the Swagmatics is an Asbury Park area band born to rock your funky souls! All of it's members have been seen in several of Asbury's most successful bands including Geena and Dragster, Last Perfect Thing, deSoL, Borialis, Spider Rockets and Hollywood Swingin'. Taking their love of rock licks and the soul stirring power of the raw gritty soul voices of the 60's and 70's combined with smooth bass grooves, tight drum pocket and keys arrangements, they are a band that should and will be on your radar this year and beyond!
