Created and produced by Paula Barouh, Chilean singer-songwriter, Descargo y Maleficio a one-woman army of poetry, electronic beats, and melodies shout unhesitatingly the struggle of being a Chilean female citizen and artist, in a hostile and careless South American metropolis. In the midst of a social outbreak against inequity, lack of opportunities and also sexism Descargo y Maleficio, does not skimp on spit outs, and manifestos to visibilize her own journey through this intricate path to hopefully find some redemption in the end. Will she? We´ll just have to wait and see.
Descargo y Maleficio debuted live in Radio Free Brooklyn, NYC and also in the iconic Nuyorican Poets Cafe´s Open Mic in 2017. Early in 2019, debuts as a live performance, playing Festivals in Santiago, Valparaíso and Concepción, such as [FE] Ral, After Poetry, Distópica Vanguardia and The Experimental Experience at Casa de Salud, Concepción. For the second half of 2019, he made his first promotional tour in New York, playing showcases in THIS IS POETRY, FONDA YORK and appearances in the TV show Let Them Talk and radio stations such as Radio Free Brooklyn and Literary Hybrid of Makers Park Radio, Staten Island.
