"Descendant - Pass The Ammunition"

When the band are on they kick some serious ass, which is made evident in (track) We Are The Night. I think that this would be a good band to see in a small venue packed with around 400 - 500 people, so by that account I'd recommend to go and check them out live if they are playing near you. - Barry "Zee Zee" Dawson (MyGlobalMind)

"Descendant - Pass The Ammunition"

This is roughly a combination of Bay Area thrash gods, Metallica and Testament, some 80s heavy metal element as in Ozzy Osbourne or early Motley Crue, and also some modern metal element to twist the vintage sound.
At a first glance, I'm pretty sure you'll like the uptempo firestarter "Dance With The Devil", the classic Testament style of "Sins of Youth", and the 80s anthem, "We Are The Night", which is clearly their best track. Raf Russell's singing style reminds me of a lot to Chuck Billy, some great solos are performed by Mat Brinkworth, and the tight performance of the band is the reason why they're crowned champion a while ago. A promising start for the band, but I truly hope time will shape their skills and claimed them their true identity. - Stephen Kasenda (Metal Music Archives)

"Descendant Airplay on K-Rock 95.3 Cold Lake Alberta"

I think you guys kick some major ass so I HAD to spin that tune. Good luck! - Travis Currah Music Director 95.3 K-Rock

"Live Show Review"

Good songs, good musicianship and chemistry and some really cool guitar riffs. What more could you want? - Mike Hand (myspace.com/landmarkevents)

"Guess Who's Coming To Dinner"

What do you get when you mix a bottle of tequila in a blender with a cool, aged quart of Canada's finest whisky? You get an epic tsunami of energized and intoxicated Canadian rock 'n roll... or in many fewer words you get Descendant. These chi's play straight up beer drinking anthems that are complemented with just enough brutality to keep your pants tight and your liver working overtime. I had the privilege of catching a Descendant set a few months back and I must say I was totally blown away. Beware Canada, because these Ottawan's are storming the country ruthlessly and without mercy, and they're loaded with an arsenal of riffs like a bum's loaded with low end change. So pick up a record and a cold case of Schlitz, and get used to the feeling, because Descendant are here to stay. - Sanktuary (myspace.com/sanktuaryslays)

"Live Show Review"

These guys have banging high energy right out of the gate! Their set was very tight, well executed and obviously well rehearsed. They get the hardest hitting drummer award!" - Jon Asher (ashermediarelations.com)

Bio

Formed in 2005, and heavily influenced by speed metal greats like Megadeth, Judas Priest, Metallica and Motorhead, the entire process from inception to song creation to playing their first show for a capacity crowd at Mavericks Bar in Ottawa took a mere three months. It was a battle of the bands and they won first place, not exactly an inauspicious start for these hungry brothers of rock. They promptly used the prize money to record a three song demo and shortly thereafter, entered the studio to record a monster rock / metal inaugural LP entitled "First Assault".

Riding the success of "First Assault", Descendant received airplay on CKCU 93.1FM and shared the stage with many well respected and signed bands including Threat Signal (Nuclear Blast), Aggressor and Cauldron (Earache), and up and coming Toronto hard rockers Diemonds (Underground Operations). They played in and won contests such as the Live 88.5 Big Money Shot, LME Industry Showcase, Mattamy Homes Canada Day Band Wars and then entered the studio to record Album II: "PASS THE AMMUNITION".

"Pass The Ammunition" was produced by Mike Bond (Annihilator, Sleeping Pilot, Autumn's Canon, Tokyo Sex Whale), boasts cover art designed by world famous metal art icon Lorenzo Sperlonga, a self-financed and professionally shot music video and a take no prisoners approach to marketing and distribution. Single "We Are The Night" has received airplay on K-ROCK 95.3FM in Alberta and Single "Bloodlust" is receiving rotation on college radio including CHUO 89.1FM.

Descendant has been featured and reviewed in Italy, Sweden, Australia, Indonesia, Germany, and the United States. They have been covered in Metro magazine, and they continue to sell records internationally through their Bandcamp and Big Cartel portals.

With all these accolades under their belt, DESCENDANT is preparing to release a third EP and devastate the world of Canadian hard rock and speed metal!
